A Huge Disappointment We went to this restaurant during its soft opening and had such an amazing time and the food was so good that we decided to come back. Honestly, I wish we hadn’t. Things went wrong from the moment we walked in. They told us there were no free tables, so we left. But not even a minute later, we called, and suddenly there was a table available. Super confusing. Once we sat down and ordered, the waiter told us our food would take at least 35 minutes. Fine, no problem. We asked for our salad first, and for the rest of the food to come together. Then the waiter came back and had already forgotten which wine we ordered and asked us again what drinks we ordered. Service just got worse from there. I asked a Czech-speaking waitress with black hair, who was honestly super rude, to bring me extra onion with my main course. Instead, she brought my dish out first without the extra onion, even though we wanted both main courses to come at the same time. Then she rolled her eyes and walked away. To top it off, the chicken was raw. Like, actually raw. I really hope I don’t get sick from it. My husband’s pork came out afterward, and it was dry and tasteless. Oh, and they were out of a bunch of sauces (no adzhika sauce, no oil for the bread), and the bread itself wasn’t even fresh. I tried talking to the manager about all this, but he basically ignored me and said, “I’m here, talk to me,” like he didn’t care at all and didn’t even look me in the eye. When we finally asked for the bill, the waitress said she didn’t have any change. Honestly, this whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. We loved this place the first time, but after tonight, we’re definitely not coming back. Very sad. Ps. When I add a photo of the raw chicken google bans my review , so I had to delete the photo in order to post the review 🤯.

I was staying just around the corner, and even though this is my 12th time in Prague, I had never stayed in this area before, so I wasn’t very familiar with the local restaurants. I thought I’d leave a review because this neighborhood is popular with both tourists and business travelers, and this Georgian restaurant turned out to be absolutely amazing. I had never tried Georgian food before, but I’d always heard how good it was and was excited to come to this place to finally give it a try. I started with an assortment of pkhali (traditional vegetable and walnut spreads), and every single one was delicious — especially the beetroot and the spinach, the pumpkin was good too! Then I had grilled chicken served on lavashi, which was SO flavorful and tender. And of course I couldn’t leave without trying the famous khinkali (dumplings) which here were filled with beef and pork. The food alone was fantastic, but what really stood out was the service and the overall dining experience. Everyone on the staff was kind and welcoming. To my surprise, the evening also included live performances: when I walked in, three older men dressed in traditional attire were playing Georgian instruments and singing beautifully. Later, a woman performed contemporary pop songs with a stunning voice, and the night finished with more traditional music accompanied by three incredible dancers right next to my table. This place offers so much more than just a meal…it’s a full cultural experience. On top of that, Georgian cuisine has plenty of healthy options, so there’s something for everyone. I’ll definitely be back on my next business trip to Prague, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting.

Dergi is simply a must! My boyfriend and I were thrilled to discover Georgian cuisine for the first time during our visit to Prague, a rarity in Canada. Dergi was an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm, vibrant, and inviting decor that set the perfect ambiance for our meal. Our server, Eva, truly enhanced our experience with her warm demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. She walked us through the cuisine, and along with her sister who also works there, shared delightful insights about their food and culture. Learning that Dergi is a family-owned establishment, with the mother cooking in the kitchen and aunt who designed the space, made the experience even more special. You could genuinely sense the love and passion infused in every aspect of the restaurant. Their exceptional hospitality went beyond just incredible food; it made us feel completely at home, enriched by their eagerness to share Georgian traditions. Over our travels across Europe, Dergi became my favorite dining spot. I only wish we had arrived later to enjoy the live Georgian music and dance that starts at 7 PM. I can't wait to return on our next adventure! Thank you Eva, and the entire family for such a memorable experience! <3

I discovered Dergi on WOLT and ordered their food. The meal was absolutely delicious, and I have to say, I haven’t had such great Khachapuri in Prague before. It was truly exceptional, and I was very impressed.

However, my experience visiting the restaurant in person the next day was disappointing: When I entered, the waiters looked at me as if they didn’t know why I was there. No one greeted me or offered assistance. I wanted to ask where I could sit, but their expressions gave me the impression they didn’t know either. So, I had to find a table myself. I waited over 10 minutes for a menu before finally getting up to ask for one myself. Then, it took an unreasonably long time to place my order. The service was unfriendly, and I felt like I had to beg just to eat and pay. There were no napkins on the table, and no one brought any even after I ordered. There was no salt, pepper, or other condiments on the table, and I was too tired to keep searching for the waiters. The plate they gave me was dirty because it hadn’t been washed properly. I had to switch to another plate on the table. I didn’t check all of them, so be cautious if you decide to visit.

In summary, while the food is excellent, the in-restaurant experience was extremely disappointing due to the lack of professionalism and poor hospitality. I hope they improve their service because the food truly...
