I'm not one to sign up for an organized tour, but I kept reading glowing things about Prague Food Tours that I decided to do it. It was my very first visit to Prague and knowing very little about Czech cuisine, I was hoping to learn about regional dishes and get a good overview to the area's foodie scene. Turns out, this was one of the very best food-centric things I've ever done anywhere in the world.

Booking our tour was easy and fast. The price and meeting location were both made clear. George was our guide and showed up right on time. We were in a very small group with two other single travelers, a woman from Ireland and a man from Australia. This super small group meant we had personal attention from George and we instantly became fast friends because we all shared a love of one thing: food!

Our tour hit many of the highlights in the city as well, with easy walking and George eager to point out some of the city's most famous sites along the way. The food options were plentiful and unlike some other food tours, I didn't go hungry! We basically had full meals at each of our four stops. Each establishment offered something new and different, from a swanky old school restaurant to a beer hall to a craft cocktail bar to a place for bar snacks and dessert. There was plenty of variety of both food and booze, and it was easy to customize if you didn't want to eat something. I would say that this tour would be tough for vegetarians or vegans, but it would still maybe be doable with some advanced planning.

At each restaurant, George handled the ordering and payment for us so we totally just got to sit back and enjoy eating and learning. It was smooth and seamless, an easy and carefree evening.

Another thing I loved about George is that he didn't resort to food shaming like some other food tour guides sometimes do. Of course most people who would go through the trouble of booking a foodie tour would be adventurous eaters who will try anything, but there is always that one person who refuses to eat a certain dish for whatever personal reason. At one stop, we had a member of the group not too keen on trying steak tartare and instead of shaming her into taking "just one bite," George ordered her something else with no big fanfare. Although it wasn't me, I appreciated how he handled that with grace and style.

George was a fantastic guide. He spoke perfect English and had a pleasant, jovial attitude. He felt like an instant friend, eager to learn about customs in our country as well as answering all of our questions about his childhood and of course, food! I feel like I left this tour with a knowledge that made me very well versed in the cuisine of the Czech Republic, and that was my ultimate goal!

At the end of the tour, we paid the remainder of our tour fee to George in cash and we got a cute little goodie bag that included a pre-stamped postcard that we could mail to our friends back home and a printed list of all the venues we visited as well as the dishes we sampled. This was super helpful and a wonderfully useful surprise. One thing that would've been really nice is maybe a list of popular foods and the translation for them. It's difficult to order food in Prague if you're going to a local place because not much is in English. I realize this is a foreign country and that's the way it should be, but a foodie dictionary for those of us who don't speak the language would've been so awesome.

George taught us so much about the beer culture, the food history, holiday traditions and more. His enthusiasm for his city and food is contagious. I recommend you book this tour for your first evening in Prague because you'll get all kinds of insider tips about where to go and how to do things. This tour is expensive but worth every penny. If you love food, you won't be disappointed. Highly, HIGHLY...

I had some pretty strong expectations going into this but my guide Leona blew them all away. I took the 'Delicious Food Tour' and I had an unbelievable time of it.

The tour takes you to several different venues to taste a variety of meals. I'm a pretty big eater so I was worried I would leave hungry but by the end I was full to the brim! I couldn't have eaten another bite. Everything we had was meticulously chosen to showcase a different facet of Czech cuisine - it was absolutely delicious and shows a great contrast to the typical North American diet I am used to.

Every place we went to had a unique and interesting history about it. For instance one of the stops is a traditional beer hall. Unlike most pubs where any junior bartender can pour a pint, this place employs a "master beer pourer" who pours every glass that leaves the bar. He will pour your beer in several different ways depending on how you want to drink it to maximize your enjoyment. I never realized how intricate something so simple as pouring a beer can be! You can really taste the difference. I haven't looked at my beer the same way since.

A great tour needs a great guide and Leona really shines. She's very passionate and knowledgeable about food, Prague, and Czech culture and eager to share this with her guests. She has a very positive energy about her, just a pleasure to be around and converse with.

I've done quite a few things in Prague but I find that this tour is the one that I talk about the most. I have only good things to say about it and I highly recommend it to everyone,...

Prague Food Tours is a great tour to take when visiting Prague. We booked the tour several months in advance. After booking the tour, they sent us recommendations for places to see, a link to a map with restaurant recommendations, and a sheet with practical information about transportation and money exchange. All of this was very helpful when we were planning our time in Prague.

George was our tour guide. He took the time to learn all of our names and to get to know each of us. He is fun, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We learned about Czech history, culture, geography, and of course, food. We tried a variety of traditional Czech foods on the tour – many that we would have not tried on our own. The food was delicious! When booking the tour, we were asked to list any dietary restrictions we have. Throughout the tour, George was very aware of these restrictions and would point out foods that some of us shouldn’t eat. He always offered to replace these foods with foods that we could eat.

George went above and beyond what was expected. After the tour, he provided us with a list of the foods we ate and the places we had visited on the tour. He gave us a map of Prague and pointed out various sites that he recommended visiting. If we had questions about Prague or places to visit outside of Prague, he took the time to offer suggestions. The day after we took the tour, he emailed us with recipes for some of the foods we had eaten.

If you go to Prague, I highly recommend taking one of the tours offered by Prague Food Tours. You will not be...

We had the most amazing time on our tour with George. We were lucky enough to have him to ourselves so found out loads about Prague, the food, the history and traditions. He was brilliant company and super informative. All of the food was delicious (we ate a LOT 😂😂). I would highly recommend the tour - definitely not to be missed.

The Prague food tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Prague. It was our first time visiting the city and didn’t have much knowledge of the food. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour and had Leona to ourselves. I can’t describe how wonderful she was both as a person and guide. She engaged with us, went deep into the history of the country, food, and people, and showed us 4 amazing places that had absolutely delicious food and drinks. You could tell she really put some thought into the places she picked to take us to. The places all were different with unique aspects that were authentic to the culture. We didn’t just go to 4 restaurants. We would have definitely of revisited some of the places had it not of been our last day. All of the food and drink options were amazing and had great flavors. We are glad we didn’t eat any food before the tour and came hungry as we felt we got a good portion of each option. We left full and didn’t end up eating for the rest of the day. I am certainly craving some of the flavors. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Prague for the first time or revisiting. I hope my parents one day visit and take the tour. It didn’t disappoint! Thank you to Leona for showing us wonderful and unique places and sharing her culture with us.
