Refused refund even when skies were closed due to war. Presented proof of canceled flight and was still denied. Stay away from this place if you expect basic decency.
my country is at war and there are no flights to/from it. yet they refuse to waiver my order penalty, even partially.
I have been 12 times to prague. twice in this hotel before.
I understand hotel policies, but being humane is more important,it is not about policy but pure greed and opportunism.
To any Israeli visitorseven considering order a room here.see hebrew below.
עקב סגירת השמיים לא יכולתי להשתמש בהזמנה שלי. המלון מסרב לוותר על ההזמנה,אפילו על דולר בודד. תשקלו זאת טוב לפני הזמנה איתם
Updated after the hotel response:
The hotel responded with many lies and accusations. 1.israeli skies were indeed closed after my flight to prague,12 hours later, there were imminent threats and i was lucky and amart enough to decide not to board that flight,if I had i would not be able to return home until this very moment since only today rescue flight from prague are returning and obviously will take some time to retun all passengers 2.i have tried to contact the hotel about 12 times during these days with no response, also the hotels.com platform said they couldn't reach them. 3.i have offered a partial penalty,on the very first day,so the hotel will not lose anything,to which they refused. 4.an official document from elal was sent to the hotel stating my return flight was canceled and therefore I couldn't use it and complete my trip.
So first,I stand behind EVERY WORD. Second, when someone is not responding to you after many tries, send you to get specific documents although it was impossible at the time, insisting on taking your money for a situation you can't control, and all that when your city is under rocket attack and you can't sleep - you might get a little "aggressive".
I was fair in my mails and offers, and it seems to me your response did even more damage to your already not so...
Read moreVisited for 3 nights/4 days in February for a short city break. We had an absolutely fantastic time! The hotel exceeded all our expectations and was brilliant. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. When we arrived at the hotel, around 10am, we weren’t expecting to be able to check in straight away but the gentleman on reception upgraded us to a deluxe room as we had arrived early and allowed us to go to our room straight away, great service! The room was spotless and had everything we needed, a fridge, hairdryer and a safe etc all included. The only thing we would suggest is a plug either side of the bed. The whole hotel was spotless also. The breakfast was great, something for everyone, hot and cold food with a range of drinks. The Atrium restaurant was lovely too. The food was great and as no one else was eating in there at the time we were, the waiter, a Cuban gentleman, made the area really nice for us by lighting candles and dimming the lights, a really nice personal touch we really appreciated. The staff on reception were helpful allowing us to change notes for coins as 20CZK coins are very useful to use toilets around the city. On your check out day, the hotel have a luggage room behind reception where you can store your luggage whilst you make the most of your last day. The hotel was overall in a really central and convenient place for all the local attractions. It is on a relatively quiet one way street but is still close to the busy city. Close to the Palladium shopping centre, supermarkets and some nice restaurants. We had a really great holiday and would definitely recommend the Grand Majestic Hotel to anyone thinking of...
Read moreStayed at this hotel for 3 nights April 19-22. First note: Be very careful because there is another hotel in Prague with a very similar name and it's quite easy to get them confused. ||I flew into Prague and took the AirPort Express bus to the Main Train station. It was a pretty easy walk from the train station (took about 25 minutes) but it's also very simple to do by tram if you prefer. This hotel is in a great location beside the Palladium Mall, and major tram/metro stops which made getting around the City a breeze either by foot or by transit. Anything you could want or need is right there. ||The hotel itself was in an older building, and on a quieter side street so it was a very relaxing place to come back to after seeing the City. My room was on the smaller side (typical for Europe) and had 2 single beds, a desk and good sized wardrobe. The bathroom was pretty big, but I would point out there was a very large step to get into the bath/shower combo. The hotel provided shampoo, body wash, lotion, a hair dryer but no face cloths. Room was very quiet and beds were super soft. Very clean too, no concerns at all. ||Breakfast was included but it was very busy. Not a problem with ample seating, but it was a bit crazy down there especially around 9am. The free glass of prosecco was nice in the morning (which I happily turned into a mimosa). Coffee, tea, juices, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, cheeses, breads, pastry, salads... anything you could want was included. I ate so much I usually skipped lunch! ||Staff were very friendly and welcoming - honestly a great hotel choice that I would recommend to anyone...
