I have been visiting Kobe restaurant for several years now whenever I am in Prague. Today (15.01.) I had lunch at Kobe Andel.
The first waiter did not seem to speak English and I had some rotation in waiters on today‘s visit. I guess that’s not too unusual at lunchtime.
I chose gyoza for starters and ordered a beer. For the main course I ordered current sushi specialties.
The „amuse bouche“ was a little disappointing today, I small roasted bread without any extras. „Gyoza kreveta/ shrimp“ was good with nice flavor and tasty filling and sauce.
What really made my day were the specialties: Kobe tenderloin rolls and Salmon tataki. These had to be the softest slices of salmon I‘ve ever tasted. They felt like butter melting in my mouth, with nice selection of spices and sauce, incredible. The Kobe tenderloin rolls are also truly amazing in my opinion. The beef inside is so soft and juicy, the rolls outside nicely crispy and combined with the sauce a real joy.
I was asked if everything was fine after each plate and felt well treated. I was even given an incredibly fine grappa on the house after my meal.
So although my today‘s visit started a little unexpectedly and I may not order gyoza again, Kobe Andel deserves a 5/5 star rating for the nice treatment, the outstanding quality, feel and taste of the current specials.
I will definitely com back next time I am...

We had a lovely table and our waiter made sure we had everything we wanted. First we got a free appetizer, that already amazed us because of the good taste!
My first dish was the salmon - avocado salad, this one was more than amazing. The taste was so good and you could immediately notice how fresh the ingredients were. My friend had the steak tartare, that was wonderful as well.
Our main dishes were beef Teriyaki & chicken Teriyaki! The rice was absolutely out of this world! I have never ever in my life tasted something so good!
We were too full to try one of their desserts, but I think those will be really lovely as well.
Our total (including a bottle of wine) was 1915 CZK = 78€, but really worth...

Food was probably the best Japanese food I've had. Keep in mind that I've traveled in Japan for quite a bit. Ever single dish was beautifully decorated and carefully cooked and seasoned.
None of the vegetables in the beef cheek dish were bitter. Potato purée and beef cheek literally melted in my mouth, same as the hotategai nigiri (scallop). Masterfully done dish.
Kobe beef sushi roll was perfect and mouthwatering. Corn soup had a very special flavour. Dish with ramen noodle was special and wonderfully done.
Though every dish was on the saltier side.
One thing tho, the sushi rice complimenting the nigiri was dry and tasteless. Definitely can use some...
