Restaurant Zlatý Klas s.r.o. — Restaurant in Prague

Two visits, two very different experiences. +- The food on the first visit was great - however, some dishes, like Svíčková, were extremely poor in the amount of meat that was served +- Service on the first visit was trying to be nice, though they were tired and it was showing a lot - on the second visit, they didn't make much effort in general, they weren't bad, but nothing great either +- Ambience is okay-ish, nothing extra, but even with a lot of people in, it didn't get too loud

• Extreme disappointment was the second visit (only 3 groups of people in the whole restaurant, including us) - 55 minutes in, they weren't able to bring out the food. After 30 mnutes, we asked about the food, since we were pressed for time. The waiter checked, then didn't come back for the next 5 minutes and only gave us a brief "it will only be a couple of minutes" when he was passing by, bringing food to people who came 15 minutes AFTER us. The dishes were nothing too complicated. After another 20 minutes (making it 55 min total), we went to cancel the order - upon that, we were told they were just about to bring out the food, but we overheard the cook say "I need to reheat the three dishes", meaning they were apparently unable to coordinate the four dishes together. The waiter was very "squirrely" about the whole thing, but he remained professional and the other waiter spoke a few unpleasant words that seemed to be directed towards the kitchen staff.

I'm only giving 2* since the first visit was alright and the food was very tasty, however, after the second visit, I won't be recommending this establishment to...

I was really dissapointed about this place. It got good reviews from google and my parents had been here last year and they really liked the place so we decided to try it again. This time unfortunately we werent satisfied. The food was bad. The duck was overcooked, turkey was dry, knedlicki were like they were made yesterday and heated up. We also ordered a beefsteak and were almost sure that the meat we were given was pork. When we went to talk to the waiters that the food was not good they told us that maybe we want to cook it and that if we dont like it we can go somewhere else. After all we didnt have to pay for 2 of the dishes and they asked us if we want something else instead but we did not have an appetite for that. What dissapointed us the most about the place was how the staff didnt care and how rude they were. If I was just rating the food, I would have given this place a five star. I had the pig knuckles and it was delicious. The problem was with one of the servers. He took an intense dislike to me and was rude and just awful. I asked the other waitress if he was having a bad day. She said he was and so on my way out I touched his arm and wished him a better day tomorrow. He seriously looked down at my arm like a person in India might at an untouchable touching them. Hey I know it isn't me. I am a freaking Canadian! No one is nicer than us. It takes a lot of work to be that miserable to someone trying to be nice to you. Hard times ahead for this Rasputin look alike. I can only imagine that he is the owners son because who in their right mind would have someone like that working for them if not?
