The food is absolutely amazing and authentic. You will find both Chinese and Thai dishes, but the chef knows what he is doing. The restaurant is unfortunately very small, there are mostly two person tables available and if you come in a group there is a good chance that you will have to sit at separate tables. Unfortunately, there are also things that I rate negatively. The restaurant lacks any kind of coat rack and there is absolutely nowhere to hang your coats. This is quite a problem in the winter, as it is quite cramped inside. The second big minus is the lack of card payment, which seems quite absurd in a city like Prague these days. Unfortunately, we had to withdraw money from a nearby ATM, where the commission is 150 crowns. That is a lot of money. I would much rather leave this amount as a tip for the friendly staff. However, I have to admit that the prices are fortunately not high (definitely lower than in the Old Town) and no matter what, it's worth coming here for the taste...
Read moreMon House is a cut above the average “Asian restaurant” you’ll find in Europe. Dishes carry true 'wok hei' - the smoky breath of the wok that comes only with high heat and expert handling. Highlights: braised aubergine with garlic and black beans (sticky, smoky, 9/10); French beans stir-fried with Chinese bacon and black beans (perfect timing, 9/10); fragrant duck slices with hoisin (outstanding, 9.5/10). The red curry duck was tasty but modulated to local tastes - I’d have liked more spice and a lighter hand on the cooking (7.5/10). Sizzling spicy chicken with vegetables was a solid 7/10. Execution overall? Amongst the best Chinese food I’ve had...
Read moreI would normally give the food quality 3 stars, but because the waiters were exceptionally nice, I gave a generous 5-star rating to avoid harming the restaurant. That said, it’s just a typical Asian fast-food place. I wouldn’t eat here if it wasn’t right next to my office. I honestly don’t understand why this place has such a high rating. Many reviews seem to focus mainly on the low prices, which is fine — but people who judge restaurants only by price should realize that some of us value food quality more than cost when choosing where to eat. Because of such one-sided reviews, others might get misled and end up disappointed with their...
