Update - August 4: I’ve been to Namastaey two more times & have not had the same food quality or service. One time I was forgotten at my table after the food was brought - I had wanted to order another drink and some food to go, but after 15 minutes I just went to the register and paid. The other time I took butter chicken to go… my family and I were disappointed to find the food was very bland (not at all like Rangoli, where we normally go). Hopefully these are just growing pains - I’ll try again in the future, but for now, I’m removing a star for these disappointing visits.
First Visit: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️….. My first visit was the day Namastaey opened. Even though it was a very warm day, I chose to sit in the garden as it is nicely shaded and surprisingly protected from road noise. I was greeted warmly, allowed to choose a table and had my drink delivered to me quickly.
I ordered Chicken Vindaloo, Basmati Rice, Sour/Spicy Pickled Veg, and Papadam. Likewise, the food was also delivered very quickly.
The rice was piping hot & perfectly cooked. The Vindaloo was nicely presented, spicy and well balanced (it wasn’t trying too hard 😃). The chutney was as promised - eye-wateringly sour, salty & quite hot. I could see it being a game to try to eat this with friends 😅
Overall - very lovely experience & I look forward to coming...
Read moreI ordered food from this restaurant and I have to say, it was the worst indian food I had in my entire life.
I ordered Korma + Some other food with lentils.
Lentils tasted like it was cooked in a black tea. While Korma is supposed to be sweet, this was way, way too much. I could literally chew coconut pieces in every sinlge bite and I had mouth full of coconut.
Meat was spoiled or really old, not sure which one as I did not finish this and threw it away.
Korma tasted like sugar soup with coconut. I also ordered garlic naan but never got any garlic on it, it was just plain naan, at best it might be a butter naan.
Naan wasn’t great either, looked like fat pizza without toppings and chewed like a bubble gum. Usualy they are my favourite side in indian restaurants…
I am really dissapointed and I hope they just had a bad day and this is not a...
Read moreOur search for Indian food brought us here on our Prague visit, the food was not the best we had, the place was humid given it was very hot day and having no fan or ac made it worse
Coming to food, we ordered veg pakora, chicken mint salad, paneer Parantha, to be honest this was one of the most disappointing Indian food we had, the salad had literally no taste, the chicken wasn’t appropriate, the only saving grace was the paneer Parantha, the tables were sticky and felt like they haven’t been cleaned, being from India was never looking forward to write such a review for an Indian restaurant but just being honest here, I hope my suggestion would be taken care of and improvisation would be...
