When you just think of having a great siesta after lunch, that means something, very positive. Not far from the center of Prague but enough to feel you're tasting the real chezch cousine you find this familiar restaurant. Looks a bit like the classic spanish old tavern, with a touch of class with the paintings and the homelike smell. The food. Starters: sausages and cheese. Both acquired unusual protagonism, the sausages spread with tomato and beer salse and the cheese with fresh species were absolutely delightful, i would have asked for a second round. Second assault: my wife's goulash and my son and I's pork butt were sooo tasty, the beef just melted in our mouth. Bravo! For dessert an apple strudel was the cake in in the ice. Plas plas plas plas. Honestly recommeded. If you want a relaxed meal in a great and authentic chezch reataurant, with so authentic and incredible meals, attended by very kind people, visit the Pod Vysenhradem, your siesta will be unforgattable!! Highly...

Upon entering the restaurant, the atmosphere certainly had a distinct vibe, albeit one reminiscent of a bygone era—specifically, the communist era. While some might find this nostalgic, it felt rather outdated and somewhat oppressive.

The meal, unfortunately, did not compensate for the lackluster ambiance. The meat was simply tough and difficult to chew, lacking the tenderness that one would expect from a quality dish. This significantly detracted from the overall dining experience.

The service was another letdown. The staff appeared unenthusiastic and disengaged, providing the bare minimum in terms of attention and care. At no point did we feel particularly welcome or valued as customers.

In summary, while the restaurant isn't the worst I've encountered, it left much to be desired. I would consider returning only if there were no other dining...

Dishonest establishment stole money:

The server in this venue overcharged us by adding on: 2 beers we did not order, a meal we did not order, and a 10czk sundry fee.

They took the opportunity as we were rushed when we left and simply swiped our card, grabbed the receipt and left for the tram.

Then later we realised how much cash was missing from our account and so we checked the bill…

We called them on two separate numbers, no answer. Visited the Facebook page to make contact and no message or post allowed. Eventually we filed a dispute with VISA who agreed we were defrauded by this establishment and reimbursed us.

We believe they have paid for good Google reviews.

Advise all to steer clear from this establishment as there are so many other honest...

After visiting the romantic Vyšehrad fortress this really close restaurant was the nicest way of ending a perfect day. We had the best pork knee i've had so far with horseradish, mustard and baked potatoes with rosemary + dessert. The portion was big and was more than enough considering we just had a 17 km walk in the city and we were hungry. Obviously exquisite Czech beer. The place is charming and the staff was really nice and welcoming but in a very professional way. It gave the impression that they are doing this as a way of living than just to attract clients and this means a lot for my taste in restaurants. Prices are decent and smaller than in the turistic area. Will definitely return to Prague and revisit the place.

A very nice and not very expensive restaurant which serves Czech cuisine and Czech beer. In Czechia, there are two types of Czech kitchebs - restaurants and dining rooms (Jidelnas). While Jidelnas are very inexpensive, you have to eat whatever they have made for the day. Whereas, in a restaurant which serve Czech cuisine (Ceska Kuchyna) you can order whatever you want to eat from the menu. I ordered the pickled cheese (Nakládaný hermelín) and the Pork Knuckle (Vepřove Koleno) along with a side of sauteed vegetables, beer, and bread. Everything was absolutely delicious. And while the staff here do speak English, most of the patrons are locals, so it was a great experience.

Nice place - no frills and fancy decor BUT with fresh, super delicious food (and generous portions). Had the fried fish and grilled cheese for appetisers with the dark and golden beers followed by the pork knee - the size of which was very large. It was cooked to perfection with the meat falling of the bone, served with grated horseradish and mustard sauce. Apple strudel with cream and ice cream was very nice for desert. Wanted to try more dishes as they all looked very appealing as they went past to other tables. Will sure go back to try them. Highly recommend during your visit to Prague.
