Restaurace Na Mělníku — Restaurant in Prague

This is a wonderful, authentic and uncomplicated traditional Czech pub with good food, a nice atmosphere, and amazing beer. I visited here three times during my week in Prague; two times I had food, and each time it was excellent. If you are a fan of Pilsner Urquell, this is the best I had in Prague. There are certainly other great beers around the neighborhood to try, but for perfect pours of the original Pilsner, come here. This is very much a locals place, and if you don't speak Czech don't expect much conversation. That said, I felt perfectly welcomed, especially by both the barman and the woman handling table service. I had no trouble ordering in English, but I think a few basic phrases (hello and thank you) will serve you well, even if they're mispronounced like...

The food I cannot rate as did not try, but the environment is a classic Prague hospoda with black wood panelling, cream walls and large tables for discussion and inevitably many rounds of Pilsner Urquell.
