My wife and I went with three of her friends while visiting; this was touted as one if not the best burger places in Prague. When we arrived, it was not that busy at all and we were immediately seated.
Unfortunately, their Hillbilly burger was alright; it was a bit too salty and although I requested it as medium, it came as medium-well, almost well done. One of my friends ordered her burger as medium-well, and when I compared it to hers, there was no difference. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of ingredients was certainly great; I just wish the chef at the time took more care in preparing my burger. At least it was still juicy!
For drinks, we ordered the passionfruit lemonade to share; it was decent although it tasted slightly watered down (but I think that worked out since the food was salty?). The server did not check in until we were almost done the food, but he was super friendly during all of the interactions! I imagine he had been busy serving others in the restaurant. One of my friends had let him know about how the food had been salty at that time and from what I understood, he apologized before letting us know that we should take it up with the chef. I’m not sure if it is the norm here, but I’ve always understood it as the servers/waiters are suppose to bridge the communication between the customer and “back of house” staff as they work in the “front of house.” So that was interesting to experience! Although I did not take him up on it, I will keep in mind for the other restaurants we visit.
All in all, I will not be returning any time soon, but it was certainly nice to be able to experience an American style burger place while I’m out of the States. Definitely...
Read moreAwful experience. I ordered HillBilly burger without onion on Sunday at 7:20pm and came for it at 7:55. Then I drove home, when I came and unpacked burger I found it was a jalapeno burger, which I certainly didn't order. At 8:40pm I called Hillbilly to solve this problem, because due to dietary restrictions, I am not allowed to eat spicy food and I could not even taste this burger and so I'll stay hungry. BUT then they told me that it is my problem that I got the wrong burger and I will stay hungry and that they won't make me a new burger, and they won't be able to sell the wrong burger that they gave me, because they are closing soon? Like WFT!? For example, if you don't eat beef and order a takeaway chickenburger at McDonald's or Burger King, you have to open each chickenburger to make sure that the package contains the chickenburger you ordered, not the hamburger? They don't want to make a new beef burgers cause they will close 20 minutes after my call. Usually restaurants work until the last client and do not kick out the client "with dirty rags". Then I said that I could bring a burger the next working day, to which they told me that I could bring them a burger from another restaurant or make myself. Like WFT!? So I should leave a burger on the street for the homeless.
So think about your visit here so you don't waste time or get discouraged. Better visit these wonderful burger spots: El Chapo, Zelva Burger, Kaiser burger or order from...
Read moreSo, last year, we stumbled upon this spot while wandering through Holesovice and decided to try it. The food was solid, and the service—honestly, it was great. We had this super friendly waiter who gave some recommendations from the menu, and overall, it was a pretty good experience.
Fast forward to this time, and the vibe couldn’t have been more different. We walk in, and we’re greeted—if you can even call it that—by this waitress who looked like she would rather be anywhere else. I mean, she had a serious attitude. Meanwhile, another waiter is literally sitting at the bar, eating a burger with their back to us, completely oblivious. I don’t care what city you’re in, that’s just rude.
We politely asked the waitress if we could switch tables because, no joke, it felt like a sauna in there. The ventilation was either broken or on strike because we left smelling like we’d been grilling the burgers ourselves. Her response? A flat-out “NO” with a side of attitude because apparently, once you sit down, that’s your fate even though the restaurant was completely empty and there were no reserved tables.
At this point, we just ate as fast as we could so we could get out of there. Honestly, not worth a second visit. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re in the mood for bad vibes and...
