The place was a truly joyful gastronomic experience for us.
We were hanging out in a medieval underground chamber located within a true city dungeon.
The place specialized in high quality seafood. Virtually everything we took tasted great.
Maybe with the exception of a shot of vodka that I ordered to remedy the flu that I got outside. Though vodka's horrible taste is there by design and I would even argue that if vodka tastes good for you it means that either you were cheated and it's not a real vodka or you are a functional alcoholic. Read moreDON'T ORDER FISH before you read the menu. After you been seated, the waiter will show you a big plate full of fishes, even you asked for menu, he will still ignore you and insist you to order some so called "delicious fish". I don't know if those fishes are really delicious, because i insist to check the menu and noticed that those "wild fish" was sold by gram, one fish maybe cost you 2000 kr. I have no idea about the price, I just felt that the waiters behaviour is very suspicious, because i asked menu for several times, and he just ignore me and show me the fishes and don't mention the price . I am sure some customers will buy those fishes without knowing the price. And they take away my ashtray for several times, every time I need to ask. don't like the other restaurant which will take your old one at the same time give you...
Read moreExcellent restaurant. The ambience is a mix between modern and medieval that works perfectly. The music is at the perfect volume. Staff is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable, they are happy to recommend dishes from the menu. The menu itself is traditional french cuisine, with a local touch.
The food quality is fantastic. We had the duck magret and the catch of the day, and both were outstanding, well presented and flavorful. All this with the added perk of freshly made bread.
The owner is always here, and makes sure every table is properly tended to. We came in August, and while all other places were rambling with tourists, Loov had just three or four tables of locals.
Bonus: they have a great selection of cuban cigars to...
