Cathedral Café — Restaurant in Prague

Giving 2 stars for the look of the restaurant. We were really disapopointed yesterday by the service. Waited almost 20 min to get the menus (and if was not even full of customers). We asked the waiter when we entered, where we should sit and he replied, sit wherever you want (cuz it was empty) after so much time on sitting at our table next to the window he asked us to take another table because we were only two person and the table was for four. that was so rude and emberassing and unprofessional!! He could have tell at the beginning, he saw where we sat down and ignored us for a long period of time. We finally just ordererd coffee and Cake because we felt so uncomfortable, didnt want to eat brunch there. The cake wasnt fresh, it was almost frozen. Even the girls next to our table recognized it and didnt eat anymore. So we paid for two coffee and to frozen cakes over 20€. Not to recommend and we will never come back again. I felt bad stomach after earing the frozen caramell cheesecake. Btw when we wanna leave, he gave the table for four...

um being honest, just talking about their service, it is absolutely horrendous. we are 2 asian girls going in during breakfast time and we got put to a table very close to the entrance of the cafe, and obviously it was rly cold for us as it was snowing that day and we politely asked for a table further inside of the cafe, but the server (the guy in glasses with blonde hair) just shook his head and made us sit at the initial table. however, when a party of 4 white people came in, they were automatically put to a table inside of the cafe. actually there were many groups of people coming in without reservation and still got seated further inside of the cafe. so clearly there were lots of seats inside of the cafe. this is truly unexceptable, and we weren’t the only asians treated like this as there were also a party of 4 asians that were seated right next to us (near the entrance of the cafe). i do not understand and do not appreciate the attitude and racism...

Went here for a late lunch at 14 ish and the atmosphere in the garden was impeccable. Probably because we avoided rush hour, it had a nice calm ambiance and the service was very quick. One of the waiters was more friendly than the other - a young girl, who didn’t bother faking a smile…but I may be a little sensitive to this matter as I myself have been working as a waitress for half a decade so I have some expectations to service.

The food- we had a caesar salad and tagliatelle carbonara was very tasty, the salad very fresh and cooling, however, the trurkey meat a little bit dry to my taste but my boyfriend loved it nevertheless. Carbonara tasted authentic, actual sauce made from yolks and cheese and a generous amount of pepper, and the portion was decent, I couldn’t finish it by mysef. Considering the location being in the centre, the ratio between the price, portion and taste was fair and even congeniont I’d say....
