Cholon — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

We were amazed by the atmosphere and the room. I love how they have decorated the place. Service was very good from the staff, they were charming and friendly, and seemed like to have a good time during their job. We chose the complete menu, which is chefs choice. 4 starters ‘family style’, and then a main course for each person. The starters were amazing and delicious, the main course, noodle salad, was a bit boring and didn’t have a lot of taste, so asked for some sauce (siracha/hoisin) which they brought to us. We knew that we didn’t have the dessert or coffee included in our order, but we were actually sitting and feeling that something was missing after the main course, and it felt a little bit disappointing to end with a main course. The waiter was kind to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee, but we already over budget after food and wine menu.

But overall a great experience.

Overall experience was okay. I’ve definitely had better pho than this. The broth was definitely lacking. While I appreciate the presentation, I would have prefer that my garnishes be separate and I’d rather put in the amount of garnishes that I want in my bowl (btw this is not a huge ask as traditional Vietnamese restaurants do it this way). Definitely would have prefer limes over lemon for my pho. Vietnamese people do not use lemons…. Lastly, we asked for siracha and they brought out hoisin sauce mixed with (I kid you not) a squirt of siracha. I didn’t ask for my siracha to be mixed. I don’t get why they can’t just place the entire bottle out for the table to use instead of squirting it in a tiny bowl. The coffee was good tho,...

My partner and I were in Copenhagen for three days and are so glad that we decided to come here for one of our three dinners. It turned out to be the best dinner we had, given the wonderful wonderful food and lovely atmosphere of the restaurant. Regarding the food, it was incredible. Lam makes spring rolls unlike any I have had before. The entree is a single spring roll that is large enough to serve as a full meal. This is a original meal of his making so it is an entirely unique experience. Regarding the atmosphere, it has a warm, homely vibe from the minimal layout and Lam's warmth. I would well recommend this place to everyone and am looking forward to visiting again once I'm back in...
