Figo is a lovely wine bar with great food and wine.
We were there the 28th of February as a small group of friends having their hanger steak and wine set. We didn’t see the price and asked our waitress to tell us more about it. Fortunately our waitress informed us that the highest, per wine set, we can go is 600 Dkk & it was written on the menu. It was a smaller text that we didn’t even notice it. Maybe a little bit bigger than it would’ve been easier to spot.
White wine was chilled and refreshing and we loved how the red wine is almost as chilled as the white, marvelous! Good explanations not too short and not too long. It is nice that you can get an attentive waitress in a wine bar.
When we came in, there was a lot of people. The place was filled up and it seemed like they might have been short-staffed, maybe the flu is still around in the city.
We loved that you come in with welcoming staff and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing.
Overall it was a great experience. We felt a bit sorry for them as we could tell they were busy, but they still manage to keep up good service.
We will definitely be back and try...
Read moreFigo is a nice wine bar with some tasty Italian dishes to go with it. However, there were several things that made our experience there not so perfect. The menu options for the wine tasting don't have a price listed, so it's up to the server to choose how much you'll pay by choosing to bring you cheaper or more expensive wines. The white wines we got were a bit too warm for our liking, and the red wine was colder than the whites. Maybe that's on purpose, but the explanations of the wine was very short and we felt we wanted more out of a wine bar (not just "this wine is soft" or "this wine has character"). Moreover, the timing of the dinner felt off: multiple glasses of wine arriving at the same time, then multiple dishes together (although we asked them to be one at a time to have time to enjoy each), but the last wine arrived way later than our last dish (and we had to ask for it).
All these things are very small nitpicks and we usually don't care too much about service. But all these combined, and with the price we paid, means that we recommend you to try another of the many delicious wine bars...
Read moreWe were very disappointed with our visit at Figo. We ordered the vegetarian options - the daily pasta was said to be a pasta with potatoes/mashed potatoes. What came was pasta in potato soup that tasted mainly like vegetable stock. The summer salad with strawberries and sour cream was literally this, nothing else came with the salad. The strawberries still had the green tops on them. We ordered bread, there were 3 slices of bread with sausage in it, which was a shame since our waitress knew we were 2 vegetarians out of 3. The dessert unfortunately was also not great. Tiramisu was dry, way too much cocoa powder and biscuits, very little cream. The Zabaione with strawberries came with salty biscuits which was not pleasant. All in all would not recommend. The wine was fine, so was the ambience within the restaurant, but it could in no way make up for the food experience. Would...
