Wanna know the strangest thing about Copenhagen? ๐ Almost everybody we met speaks Spanish! How can this be? I know everybody there speaks English ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ. And that makes sense cause Danish ๐ฉ๐ฐ seems pretty similar to English and cause English is the universal language nowadays, but Spanish ๐ช๐ธ? ๐ณ We met a lot of Argentinians ๐ฆ๐ท and Spaniards there, but also local people who could speak Spanish. I definitely didn't expect that. ๐ That made communication in the restaurants easier (because most of the members of our group were native in Spanish). And we could expect better service. But that was not always the case...๐ One night we went to Tight and we were attended by a waitress who was native in Spanish (I don't remember where she was from). But that did not help at all cause she seemed absent. No matter which language we used, she didn't seem to be able to focus, like she was not in her body (I don't really know how to explain ๐). That was weird but not a big deal until I asked if the sauce on their surf and turf was dairy-free and she said yes... but it was not, of course. ๐ค When this happens, I normally return the plate. But when you're with a big party, if you do this, you basically eat alone. So my wife offered to share with me. ๐ฅฐ I would eat half her dish and the part of my dish with no sauce and she would eat the rest. ๐ The part I ate was very good, and the products were fresh and tasty, really good quality. My wife's meat was very good too. And although the tuna in my tuna tartare toast wasn't the best type, the overall result was excellent (way better than the one I had a few days before at another restaurant in CPH). ๐ What we had was simple, not original at all, or especially well presented, but well executed. ๐ And we paid DKK570 (โฌ75), including wine, which is moderate in CPH, even though not everybody had 3 courses. Overall we had a good time that night, but I still wonder what was happening to that waitress... ๐ค . . . ย ย ย Read moreAfter numerous positive reviews and a brief visit, we decided to reserve a table for two one evening at "Tight." Reservation proved essential, as securing a table without one will be challenging. However, in this modern age, online reservations make it convenient. Upon arrival, we were brought to our table. Disappointment accompanied us. Reserved for dinner, we were seated at a table more suited for a coffee gathering than a proper dinner setting. The bill dispenser stood directly behind my ear, causing discomfort. We inquired about an alternative table, which we were granted. Though more spacious, it was situated right by the restroom entrance. Despite a small partition to the back. But some aspects are best avoided during a meal. The restaurant could spare these two tables, even with the name "Tight". Not everything must be taken literally.
Now, onto the food. The truffle, mushroom, and cherry tomato appetizer were satisfactory but lacked creativity. The overpowering taste of truffle, coupled with excessive oiliness, left something to be desired. Finding the right balance with truffles is indeed a challenge. The 250g steak with sides didn't impress. Lacking flavor in nearly everything. The potatoes were decent, meat quality good, but overall just okay. Salt and pepper did their best to salvage the dish.
As for drinks, we wanted a Martini, which wasn't available. As a starter before we start eating. A liquid appetizer. Instead, the cocktail menu was presentedโcommendable, but having a Martini in stock wouldn't hurt.
Regarding cleanliness, after wine, water, and a cocktail, a restroom visit became necessary. While unisex restrooms are common in this area, cleanliness is paramount. It was acceptable, but scattered paper on the floor and a nearly overflowing sink left room for improvement.
One highly positive note is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, who truly salvaged...
ย ย ย Read moreThe place had a nice cozy and appealing vibe and was nicely decorated. However our experience was spoiled by one service staff, a tall bearded man. Our table was not stable and when we asked from the man to stabilise the table he gave us a story the was obvious. He explained to us that the wooden floors were uneven and was the "charm" of the restaurant. We even asked for some paper or napkins insert under the table, but he kept on explaining that that's part of the restaurant charm and we are just to "enjoy" it. How could you enjoy your meal when your table keeps moving? Since we ordered some mussels, I took one of the mussel shell to insert under the table to stabilise it and was successful.
It had already been more than an hour since we arrived and our main course had not arrived yet. Two ladies next to our table who arrived after us were already enjoying their main courses. I asked one of the waitress if she could follow up our order. The tall bearded man came back to explain to us that it has not been an hour and that we were busy chatting and enjoying our conversation over our mussel appetizers. Isn't that what people do when we go out to a restaurant, enjoy each other's company? And he should have the initiative to ask us if we would like to have main courses served soon if he did not want to interrupt our merry making.
As far as the food was concerned, the Hake Fillet did not appear to be fresh, the Surf and Turf was average, and the BBQ rack of ribs was good according to my friends.
Overall, what was expected to be an enjoyable and fun evening dinning was marred by your service staff who did not meet and adjust to customers needs and went so far as to find justification for his poor service and inability to be proactive...
