1 star as they're in the servicing industry and service was extremely horrible for it not even being busy at 6pm.
1st time visiting the country and the restaurant and wanted to try a Danish meal. Was seated quickly and then they took my order for Karrysild and Helmgaard. My son ordered the Weinerschnitzel.
The waiter brought the Karrysild and Weinerschnitzel first. I completed my dish in around 10mins. The table on my left of 5 men all ordered the Karrysild too and received their dishes just when I finished.
I saw two waiters walk past my table and didn't even take my empty plate several times. Then the waiter cleared the table for 5 Karrysild plates (20mins waiting) and still no service. My son finished his meal already (30mins) and still no service. It got ridiculous from that point the table of 5 were even getting refills on their beers and my waiter still hasn't even noticed my plate was done (with the starter fork/knife) on the plate the whole time. I got up and addressed to my waiter that I've been waiting for my 2nd course and my son has already finished his meal. Then they realized and apologized. You would figure the restaurant would comp for something for a low level of service and inconvenience, but they were happy to take my 350dkk portion when paying and did nothing about it. Also be aware they charge for water. Goto their washroom and fill up you bottle of water as we were charged 35dkk. Perhaps it could be due to the fact I'm the only non Danish person in the restaurant as it felt like I was completely ignored (I have black hair and my son has brown hair). I hope race didnt play a factor, but REALLY avoid this restaurant if...
Read moreIn the short space of time I’ve been in Denmark, I’ve found the Danes to be a rude people on the whole. Visiting this restaurant confirmed that. When you’re met with a sign that says “please wait to be seated”, you’d wait. We waited, and the waiters stood over near the bar without even approaching us, so we called out to them that we had a reservation. Then we were told “before you sit down, put your coats in the wardrobe upstairs”. No please, no would you mind, just do it basically. Then after a while we were asked if we wanted a drink, but because we didn’t decide in a time convenient to the waiter, he just walked away. When our drink order was taken, I was ready to leave; but because the place came highly recommended I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I didn’t order a drink out of spite. When our two Wiener schnitzels arrived (which are advertised on the menu as coming with potatoes and gravy, but what they don’t tell you is that if two or more people order it, then you share the gravy and potatoes). Then it came time to pay, and when we asked for the bill it simply didn’t come. So I marched up to the counter and said I wanted to pay and that I’d asked for the bill, which the winter responded “well here it is”. I paid and snatched the receipt from his hands and left. A sensible person would ignore the hype and go elsewhere for a...
Read moreWe came here regarding to good reviews yet the experience was not as expected.
Yet, THE FOOD ARE AMAZING. We had chicken salad (the crispy bread is the hightlight), liverpate is greasy and minced beefsteak is juicy 👍🏼
However the service is worse compared to what we have experienced during our Copenhagen visit. We reserved the table in advance but when we were seated at a table separated from a 4-seat table which is so closed to the table next to us. Meanwhile the capacity of the restaurant still have many tables for 2 and surprisingly the walk-in guests afterwards get better table easily. Next is the service staff, he roughly took the menu from my hand right one second I finished my order. At payment process, he intentionally process to the ‘tip’ options at card machine, indirectly proposing for tips. We also worked in F&B and a bit shocked for this approach to guest.
WE LOVED THE FOOD but the whole experience is really bad, understanding we might not be lucky today yet I hope no one will be served only for tips but...
