Don Nestor Parrillada Zona Colonial — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

My husband and I ate at this place on Thursday, Feb 18th 2022 and we had a most unfortunate experience. We ordered sweetbreads- mollejas — as a starter ( we have enjoyed this dish many times in other restaurants when available) at Don Nestor it was like eating rubber! The meat in la Parrillada was very poor quality and we left must of it untouched. What a shame, as the location at the Plaza Atarazana is quite lovely. ( there were two well behaved cats who refused the rubbery sweetbreads as well). The only items we enjoyed were the morcillas or morsel and the mashed potatoes. Perhaps the chef was having a bad night. Be careful what you order if eating there for the first time. Some friends mentioned that they had a great experience at the Santo Domingo - Lope de Vega...

Worse service and the manager Martin is rude and horrible with employee I try this company because a friend of a friend works there and experience how the manager treat their employee and is really horrible how they talk in front of customers also the service is horrible the food is good but I’m afraid of my good been handle by the kitchen staff because if they treat Their front employee bad can you imagine how they treat their kitchen employee I will never come back and I will not recommend to anyone I suggest the owners and manager to go to a hotel and restaurant management training manager should be going around tables asking people how the food is not yelling and screaming at employee like...

La comida es muy buena, las veces que np he estado a gusto con la cocción es porque el mesero que nos ha tocado no está atento a lo que se le ordena.

El servicio en general es bien, pero en particular no me gusta ser atendida por uno de sus meseros (un señor mayor, de estatura bajita) porque el va a millón, no toma nota de nada y a final de cuenta trae lo que le da la gana, como le da la gana y cuando le da la gana..

Pedí jugo y agua desde que llegué y parece que fue a algun pueblo cercano a buscarlo. Llegó la entrada primero y no las bebidas que había ordenado antes..

Otro ejemplo de ello fue que ordenamos las entradas, ibamos a pedir la cena y el dijo "que no, todavía no, pk no podia tomar la orden" sin embargo seguía recibiendo personas y llenando mesas, y su recomendación fue que "cenaramos lo mismo que ordenamos de entrada" ¿en serio caballero, y eso es así? Uno sabe a comer X cosa y usted es que va a decidir que uno va a comer?? Pk le da su gana?

Yo dejo que termine de pasar a las personas. Y lo vuelvo a llamar para que tome la orden, pk aja! A qué fue que fuimos?.. cuando por fin logramos hacer nuestro pedido, el mesero lo trajo como no era.. mi hijo pidió spaguettis y le trajo pennes, pedimos empanadas y trajo berenjenas, mi carne llegó cruda, la de mi cuñado nunca llegó, trajo las guarniciones erradas, otras faltaron, en fin.. un desastre total.

A la hora de pedir la cuenta ahí si fue rápido.. cuando pagué, abrió, chekió y me dijo "si no tiene efectivo puede dejar la propina con su tarjeta", le dijera claramente, lo sé, y no hay propina adicional, terrible servicio, pero para completar, el señor esperaba como todo un militar, haciendo guardia, (pk de ahí no se movió) esperando a ver si yo cambiaba de parecer, cosa que no fue, nos paramos y nos fuimos.

El restaurante en sí es muy bueno, su comida es muy buena, y su servicio también siempre y cuando no sea ese mesero que...
