Paletas Bajo Cero — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Good selections but more of a novelty than anything! Now here is the real problem I had with them.

The total cost was $1330 in pesos Which the clerk said was $35 in dollars. This is incorrect. I travel often and I'm aware of the exchange. This should have come up to $24 and change. He wanted to debate this and then commented that they are not an exchange place. However it is a place of business that is situated in an area that caters to tourist. I tried 4 different ice creams today: Banana with Nutella: Alright but had the bitter aftertaste of unripe bananas. The nutella filling did help to hide the bitterness. Forest fruit with yogurt: Delicious. Avocado with dulce de leche: Wonderful, you could really taste the avocado and the filling was not cloyingly sweet. Happiness on a stick each time. Many options for all dietary restrictions ( lactose free, gluten, etc - just asked for milk free options). There is usually a line every time I go but it's because it's in high demand which is a good sign. Little space to sit inside but that doesn't bother me. I usually pick up and walk the zona. Also, English-speaking staff is limited but all options are available for you to pick from so just point and shake your head a lot without speaking like they are deaf :)...
