Firstly, this is my third time here. Went a few hours ago to ring in the new year with my mother who doesn’t speak Spanish and is kind of a picky eater at nights so while I walked up to the restaurant and they were speaking to me I was translating. A man and a young woman was speaking to me and I asked if my mom could get the penne pasta with salmon. The girl brought us to the table (it was new years so I asked her recommendation on if we should sit at the top or the bottom for the best views, she said bottom which had a little attitude but it’s new years of course she’s probably tired and want to be with her family too. I brushed it off). She brought us to the table then brought over the drink menu still I could see she was tired and as someone who’s worked many major holidays in American restaurants doing service I know how hard it is, I even told my mom I was going to tip her the DOP 1600 cash in my purse since our flight is at 6am because no one wants to work on these days and even though my mom knows we wouldn’t finish the food since we weren’t that hungry. The drinks came, we waited for the food which is fine by me because I was a cook so I understand, plus it was a busy night. The food came, she brought us the mofongo but pasta with shrimp, my mom doesn’t eat shrimp. La camarera tried to convince me that I ordered shrimp and the kicker is that I don’t even remember how to say shrimp in Spanish because my household eats salmon so I never had to use it. Her manager came and asked what’s going to happen since the mofongo already came out the kitchen, told them to bag it up. With all the 2024 attitude I suppose she took the plate and stormed off so I called her back to say plate it up right here, her coworker was the one who came to do it. They took a while with the check, which I still understand because she had to catch the fireworks show too, they need to train their staff for high stress situations and even have someone shadow them when having a hard day. Terrible new year experience. All in all as a traveler, this is the worst service experience worldwide and I won’t be...
Read moreAs someone who has had tapas many, many times in Spain I found this restaurant to be a bitter disappointment! Food was seriously overpriced, substandard and small portions. We each opted for the 3 tapas for 720 pesos and a couple of extra dishes of patatas bravas at 680 pesos and my wife had a Serrano ham salad. Well, what got delivered was 2 plates consisting of 6 little montaditos, with stale bread I might add. Almost beyond belief that this was it! Also the patatas - a small plate for 680!! Wow, this restaurant is a complete scam and represents not only the worst food I have eaten in Dominican Republic but also the worst and poorest value tapas anywhere....
Read moreWith my husband we love tapas and here we ordered a selection of 3 tapas each , combination of calamares chicken kebab a jamón serrano bacalao. We get 6 pieces of stale bread with the little pieces of chicken and ham in the top. That hardly is like we know about tapas and the price for those was £10 each selection too much for a piece of bread. The conclusion for us this place has the worse food in Dominican Republic and we seriously not recommend it specially for those who love tapas as we do. Spanish people please be ware...
