I’ve never left a review here before but I really like this place and want others to be able to find it. It is off the tourist track a few blocks, and hard to find - there’s no sign and it’s in a residential block, so though the door is open it looks like a home whose front door is open for the breeze. It’s outside my comfort zone and I almost changed my mind about going in. Very glad I didn’t. It’s a tiny simple place with three tables, homemade decor and the menu on the wall. Other reviews have mentioned the burgers but we just had empanadas - can heartily recommend the pollo y maíz, res, and jamón y queso. Queso y salsa pizza not quite as good but oh well. Delicious fruit drinks come in pequeño - 14.5-oz aluminum cans - and grande - looks like 20-oz pickle jars. I especially recommend the chinola juice. Staff is super friendly, as were the only other customers in the place (one table of 4, making the restaurant about 3/4 full). Bonus: we rolled out of there stuffed after dinner, and the bill was 1/5 of what we paid for what I thought was a reasonably priced lunch earlier that day. See photos including of the entrance so you can recognize it if you decide to check it out.

I found this spot on Google, after searching for a place in zona colonial where I could just sit down and have some authentic Dominican food, but not from an overpriced tourist restaurant. And boy, does this place do that. Blink and you'll pass it, since it's of the beaten path and not a restaurant as you would expect it to be. But it's so worth it to walk those few minutes more and enjoy this experience. The sweetest service I've experiences here, some of the greatest Dominican food I've had on this trip and ridculously affordable. Please go here, because these people deserve the business.
