If I were to have only one dinner in Egypt my choice would go to Maroush restaurant. What an amazing culinary experience it was! Every single dish was 10/10. We got a welcome set of apetizers where each and every one of them was so full of flavour! Babaganoush, tahini, grape leaves and aubergines - perfectly made classics you simply can't miss. Seafood soup was a poetry, a little creamy and sweet. A perfectly grilled fresh sea bass with lemon butter sauce and steamed veggies - low fat option that will please even the most demanding palate. At the end we got delicious lychee and pineapple based cocktails (I normally don't like alcoholic drinks but this one stole my heart) and a honey layered cake from the house which only made us even more spoiled. Not to mention a pretty and quiet location slightly away from the crowd. And last but not least - the most attentive and professional service we have ever encounted in El Gouna. What can I say? I'm spoiled...
Read moreThe food was nice when I came for the first time. However, the staff didn't warn us when we came that they accept cash only for the payment. The owner treated us well though providing free drinks. Also, he showed us a huge plate with the grilled fish that he prepared for someone else telling us that we should try it next time. The fish looked really great, so we decided to came today and try it. So today staff told us that the fish was a special order for someone and the owner usually shows it for customers to invite them again. But at the same time they don't know why he doing it since the fish is not on the menu. I was really disappointed as it was a special day for me.
It's the great place to enjoy the good food with great value for the price. However, I had my personal bad experience with it and hopefully the owner will stop inviting people to his place in such a...

They didn’t have a few dishes available, they rushed us to make an order but then took 45 minutes to bring out the food. Then rushed us to pay the bill and charged for items we didn’t have and tried to be cheeky by crossing it off manually which kept the service charge of those items on the bill. I would strongly recommend to the owners to stick to Egyptian food as my daughter and nephew ordered a curry and salmon gill which was simply disgusting and worse than a microwave cooked dish. It was clear that it was not touched so would have expected the waiter to notice and ask everything is ok. The service was quite...
