Andrea Zamalek — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

Very bad experience. There was a reservation for Ramadan iftar and no options of choosing your table. When we went there, we went early to choose a good location. The waiter was extremely rude to my and my parents, he was shouting to us and talking to us as if we were in a school that we have no right to choose the table as it was already set from before (we were the first to arrive to the restaurant as we wanted a good location to celebrate my sister’s birthday). Then another customer came after us and asked to choose her table as well as she did not like the place that they chose for her, the waiter shouted to us!!! ‘See what you did, you will make a revolution and everyone will want to change their place, this is your only option the table that i chose for you!’ Actually we were very offended by these weird overreactive and offensive unnecessary way of communication and when we were leaving we were not stopped. My friends and I went there yesterday for a birthday celebration it was one of the worst experiences. The waiters were semi-preofessional but extremely slow. The food was sadly one of the most disgusting things I’ve tried. Shish tawook was as dry as a rock the rice was literally cooked days ago. We had hair in the food. We brought those facts up to the waiters they shrugged it off we just ate the food that supposedly took long time to make with very bad quality. An action was made when my friend actually lost her temper that they started doing something they got her a different plate and it felt like that it came from a different restaurant the chicken was moist and juicy compared to the brick block we were having earlier. Overall the atmosphere was nice you’re basically chilling next to the Nile but the quality of the food is rock bottom don’t recommend their catering service. The fact that you had to make a scene to get a descent quality of food just sums up the quality and hygiene control of the place LET’S NOT FORGET THAT ALMOST ALL THE PLATES HAD...

I'm writing to let you know how unhappy I was with the service I had at this restaurant during my most recent visit. When I called this restaurant on March 27 to make a reservation, I mentioned that I wanted our table to be by the Nile on March 28. They said it was okay. When I arrived at the restaurant at 5:00 PM on March 28th, I was dumbfounded to see that every table next to the Nile was reserved. Instead, I had to sit at a table next to the kitchen, which was far from the Nile and in an extremely uncomfortable spot.They didn't inform me that every table was reserved over the phone when I said over the phone that I wanted the table next to the Nile; instead, they replied that was fine.
