I recently dined at Daily Dose - Zamalek on a Friday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. A few weeks ago, I left without ordering due to poor staff quality and inadequate indoor air conditioning. Unfortunately, my recent visit was even worse.
Upon arrival, there were three empty tables, but we were told there was a waiting list. After standing up to leave, we were suddenly told to sit down as it was okay. This inconsistency was just the beginning.
When we tried to order, we were given a scratched QR code that wouldn’t scan. This wasn’t the first time this happened. We asked for two cups of tea, but the staff refused, saying they couldn’t serve tea and Turkish coffee on weekends. After some back and forth, we settled on a Spanish latte and a cup of tea. The latte came in an unnecessarily large size, which I didn’t ask for and couldn’t finish.
The final shock came with the bill: EGP 275 for a cup of tea and a large Spanish latte. When I questioned the size, I was told it was due to “weekend sizes” and new prices. The manager and staff were unhelpful and dismissive, with the manager coldly saying, “شرفتينا يا فندم.”
This was not my first visit to Daily Dose, but it will certainly be my last. The previous staff were much nicer, and the overall service quality has significantly declined. I do not recommend Daily Dose to anyone anymore. A very...
Read moreIt took me one experience here to decide to not go back .
I had come by on weekend evening for coffee. The place was at probably 60% capacity. And we were one of about 3 other tables that had just come in. So it didn't make sense for 2 caramel cappuccinos to take 45-50 minutes to make especially when they have a full fledged coffee machine that usually takes 3-5 minutes per order to get it done.
After waiting for all that time and having had seen that also the other recent tables had also been waiting for theirs we had decided to cancel the order and walk over to another coffee store . The order showed up as we were literally leaving with the store manger offering it up as complentary along with a string of excuses that didnt make sense considering all new walks ins had also been left waiting.
Additionally although waiters could be seen behind the counter there was minimal staff attendance on the floor to even answer to customers enquiring as to why their orders took so long . It was so bland in terms of actual coffee with way too much flavour to overcompensate .
Although it has a top notch location with a nile view seating perfect for morning coffees and meetings, unfortunately I cant recommend this...
Read moreOverall experience: Not bad.
•Drinks: I ordered lemon mint ginger, I got a drink that is too foamy with pieces of lemon skin unfiltered, no hint of ginger. I asked for replacement which I gracefully received. It was a normal lemonade (also no hint of ginger) and too sweet for my taste, but it was not bad so I didn’t ask for another replacement.
My friends got ice latte & mocha frappé which they complimented. So I do recommend sticking to their specialty (coffee drinks) when you order.
•Service: friendly, calm & professional. (I hope they improve in speed and in responding without reminders)
•Place: very beautiful interior decoration, relaxing vibes, spacious, comfortable seats, indoor & outdoor with different seating styles & weather accommodations. Even the waiters’ uniform aprons were stylish.
•$: we paid a reasonable amount for the coffee drinks
•Parking: No parking (you can park nearby in certain streets or parking lots, try asking if they have valet service,...
