The Lodge Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Red Sea

Ate at the lodge in hurgarda marina tonight , it looked very nice from the outside so we thought we would give it a try after eating in so many great places on the marina … OMG I wished we had just walked on by 🤢 firstly we ordered drinks and food but noticed our table was dirty and seats did not fit under the table properly and had to lean forward to reach drinks , that was the first red flag but seems as though we ordered food already we asked to be moved to another table which the waiter did who was very nice . We got our drinks , then waited maybe 40 mins for the starters to come …. My wife ordered calamari it came out 5 scrawny pieces littler than a child’s finger , my classic seafood platter which was the most expensive on the starter menu I had to leave 3 quarters of it , I’ve had better Aldi fish cake 🤢… that being said I was looking forward to my Tomahawk Steak as I’d enjoyed them every other night at different restaurants in the marina during my holiday and the lodge was by far the most expensive as we had been looking at the menus as we were passing so I thought I’d be getting the best …Again Omg it came out with scrap ends of fries that looked like something that was hidden on the back of my freezer and a very very very small tomahawk only the eye was edible the rest was either bone or sinew and constantly had to spit it out . Now on to my wife’s main which was the rib eye steak , her fries looked less than a McDonald’s small portion but further down the freezer than they scrapped mine from , very over cooked and again loads of sinew and ended up leaving it . We have eaten every night at the marina for the last 10 days and were really looking forward to our meal but we’ve had better at a Morrisons cafe … please do not waste your money and go to anywhere else on the marina as there are some fantastic places … or even save it and go to supermarket for a sandwich … rating 1/10 …. I may add though we complained to the waiter who was a very nice man and he actually looked embarrassed by the state of our food … Avoid...

In my life I’ve been to many restaurants, and in my life I’ve also encountered many people. However, never in my life I would have thought to hit rock bottom on both of the above at the same time. I’m actually shocked to admit, but the whole eating experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had. None of the things we ordered were actually coming (or after 52 minutes), initial welcoming smiles left their faces after approximately 2 minutes and 43 seconds, and to top it off the dishes and their taste were similar to cement lengthened with flour and local tap water. I imagined that being “catfished” had been invented in this very special place. Came last night with my girlfriend 8th July and ordered two starters fried calamari and chicken strips they were lovely and then for main course we ordered two tomahawk steaks again tasted okay. When it came to pay they were trying to rip us off charging an extra £10 that what I got on my bill I said I wasn’t paying an extra £10 and that’s when there faces looked like smack arses. He went and came back demanding an extra £1 we were going to come back the next day and try something different but when greed gets in the way I’m not going back there.
