Read moreWow! Amazing atmosphere, right on the water, with kind, warm service and ridiculously delicious food.
We picked out our own White Grouper, super fresh and resting on ice, which was to be prepared butterflied and grilled.
While we waited, six or seven delicious dishes, including hummus, baba ganoush, assorted salads, spicy peppers and hot fresh pita bread were piled on the table.
When the fish arrived it was presented on a fun wooden boat, cooked to perfection. It was so moist, flavorful, and delicious. We pretty much picked the whole thing clean.
After our meal we washed our hands table side in a basin brought out to us.
Then we relaxed for some time drinking a blend of Egyptian and Bedouin tea, which was delicious and aided our digestion.
We decided to order dessert after relaxing a while, completely un-rushed.
My son ordered chocolate cake, which was extraordinary. The waiter offered me a “traditional Egyptian dessert”, which was described as milky, and his favorite. All in all there are so many wonderful places in Dahab to eat and so many things to do.
I highly recommend you come to Ali Baba at least once. It is...

They bring you 9(!) different types of appetizers alone! Just the appetizers with bread would have been enough for dinner. We also made the mistake of not limiting ourselves to ordering just one dish to share between the two of us. But it turned out to be no problem since they conveniently packed everything for us to take home. The service is very polite, almost overly so – there's quite a bit of staff, all smiling at you and nearly bowing, which makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I prefer more casual service. They accepted card payment, which was very convenient. The biggest downsides are that the menu prices don't include tax, which is added to the bill, and that they bring a large bottle of water you didn’t order, which you assume is a complimentary appetizer – but no, it gets added...
