Grandpa's kitchen Dahab — Restaurant in South Sinai

I came to this place based on google reviews, but the experience was a major disappointment. I was negatively surprised by both the food quality and the service.

I ordered the Mexican steak fajitas — the portion was shockingly small, barely around 100 grams of meat, and more than half of it was pure fat. When I raised the issue, the chef (who is also the owner) insisted the portion was 220 grams as stated on the menu and dismissed my concern entirely. He even claimed he had never received complaints before, and started yelling into our faces !!

I asked others at my table for their opinion, and they all agreed that the dish was unacceptable. Instead of handling the feedback professionally, the chef became defensive, confrontational, and extremely rude — an attitude that says a lot about how he treats customers. Even after we finished, he intentionally ignored our table and didn’t bother to clear the dishes, which was extremely disrespectful.

Overall, this place is overrated, overpriced, and completely lacking in both food quality and respect for guests. I strongly advise against wasting your money or time here. YOU WILL...

Atmosphere: lost two stars. The owner didn’t open the Air conditioning at 2pm in May 26th when it’s 42 degree outside. I was in shorts and cut t-shirt and melting. Very unacceptable.

I ordered a steak medium rare with mashed potatoes as you can see in the picture

Food: I won’t blame the steak on him, because I believe Egyptian meat is not made for steak. Overall I think the food was good (I think)but I couldn’t enjoy it, because I was eating so fast to leave because I was very hot inside.

Service: The owner is respectful and good service.

Price: is alright for the food and portion.

Cleanliness: the place seems clean, and I didn’t have any problem with it.

I do recommend the place to try it but go in cold weather or make sure he turns on the AC.

My low reviews are not destructive but...

He was so rude with his clients, he think that being in business for a long time will insure that even being so rude and yelling on customers will just pass normally. I had a complaint and he started yelling without even listening. The over all experience was just awful. Even that some of food was good it doesn’t give him even a tiny percent to be aggressive on customers. It’s indeed one of the worst food experiences ever. Not recommended at all. Food is a vibe and that experience was the exact opposite...
