I loved the place, really good compared to the surrounding area of it. Feels like you're in Europe; maybe because of the food they serve and the atmosphere. However; there is one point that makes me don't want to visit this place again. While eating there, you'll always find cats and dogs beside, coming to eat with you, mostly jumping on your table or chair for a slice of bread or whatever you're eating. The point is, I felt like I am in a zoo not a bakery/cafe! It really sucks out the beauty of the place especially if someone is not a fan of these animals. Don't get me wrong please, I understand how much people in Dahab are in love with animals, but not 100% of people are like this, some people like me, prefer to eat quietly and alone, without an animal hovering around for my food! I was really annoyed and the girl who works there heard me while complaining to a friend, so she tried to let them go away but they always come back seconds later. Please please please, understand that not everyone is a fond of animals around food, please understand some people are allergic. Put a fence or something around the cafe, and those who looooove dogs and cats can always find them in the streets around and they can also feed them.
PS: I know that everywhere in Dahab has the same situation, but German bakery was the worst condition of them. It was unbearable for me.
I give the food 5/5 and the...
Read moreI gave a 2 star review because we went there with the impression to get great food with a lovely experience based on friends' recommendations. However, what happened is we went to the light house branch and we did not find a place for us since we were a lot of people so we asked there to check availability in the other branch. After going there we found out that only one air condition is working was not effective at all compared to the restaurant's space. Imagine a 40 degrees celcuius outside how bad it can be inside and close to the kitchen. We stayed for the breakfast anyways, but not only it was too hot but some hot plate orders did not arrive and they started serving people who came and ordered after us. In summary, not organized, there is no system to know where the orders should go. There are too few people (3) to serve the restsurant's capacity and unprofessionel to handle big groups..specially with orders which are not from the display. NB: This was in Eid holiday. So a large number of people...
Read moreThey charge a 12% service charge for dining in, even for pieces of pastries only. I don't know any other restaurants in dahab charge that. As I'm an eco person, I opted for dining in than take out. It was a self service, so I walked up to a counter, a croissant would be delivered to my table. Croissant arrived 15 min later, it was ok. I wanted to try apple Berliner, a donut like pastry, I thought of doing take out, but I already got a tab, so I thought I'd wait again. It took another 15 min. Apple Berliner was horrible, old bread like texture. The worst part was when I walked up the cashier to pay, he added a service charge! What service did I receive? All they did was to deliver pastries to my table 15 min later, and all else was self serve. I complained him of amount of time it took to receive pastries, but he was unwilling to waive the service charge. It was worse than a complete self serve. It was his decision not to waive the service charge, they...
