This is a truly puzzling place, and hard to believe thst Ginger Arsenal is run by the same people as Ginger Toompea. This could be pure coincidence but in recent experiences the two have shown vastly different food qualities, with Arsenal boasting some of the best Indian food I've had in years and the Toompea offerings actually inedible.
While the dal soup at Arsenal was sparklingly fresh, utterly delicious, the one ordered from Toompea was likely the worst I've ever had (and I've had it in likely a hundreds places in many countries), with a lingering sour taste and clumps of lentils looking undigested. The other meals from Toompea were crushingly overpriced for their clumps of tasteless frozen vegetables. My friend and I left 70% of the expensive meal uneaten. However at Arsenal, the ingredients all seemed fresh, and the food has been vibrant and satisfying each time.
Sadly this gives me little confidence about the company as a whole and I'm not sure which of these places or my experience...
Read moreIf you try to eat here, the rather rude hostess will shake you down for your vaccination records before she will even seat you. Apparently, you can travel to Estonia, you just can't EAT there during your visit. More than that, if a business is going to hassle their customers in this manner, shouldn't the vaccination records of EVERY employee be visibly posted on the door of the place, so the customer can decide if it's safe to eat there, or not? Or is it ok if an infected host seats you, and an infected cook prepares your food, and an infected waiter serves it to you? In fact, shouldn't the staff wear badges, if they are going to act this way? "Food"...
Read moreThey have Indian, Thai and Chinese food in this nicely decorated restaurant located to the South-West from the Old Town of Tallinn. They have a good variety of chichen, beef, fish and vegetarian dishes. I ordered a dish of chicken meat with fried vegetables and cashew nuts. Unfortunately, a side dish was not included, so I ordered steam rise additionally. These dishes together were of a sufficient size and rather tasteful. I didn't like the sauce very much. It was rather spicy and sour. The chicken meat might be cut in smaller size pieces. The service was good, quick and attentive. The restaurant consists of two rooms (one spacious, another one a bit smaller) and a bar. All together, it was a...
