Mexican Cuisine in Tallinn

I recently visited a Mexican restaurant in Tallinn, hoping to enjoy some authentic Mexican flavors. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying.

Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and our order for Mexican beers was taken in a timely manner. The waiter was courteous, and the drinks arrived quickly. The cocktail Tom Collins was particularly enjoyable.

However, the food was a major letdown. It arrived in a decent amount of time, but the quality was abysmal. The dishes had a strong plastic smell, making them almost inedible. The croquettes were obviously cooked from frozen, and the tortilla bread carried a distinct plastic odor that transferred to your fingers when touched. The seasoning was completely off and bore no resemblance to authentic Mexican cuisine. It felt like a mockery of Mexican food.

The atmosphere was lacking as well. The restaurant is situated next to a busy parking lot, resulting in a constant flow of traffic noise that detracts from the dining experience.

In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant for food. The quality was terrible, and the dishes were an affront to genuine Mexican cuisine. I was really excited to try La Tabla out, had been waiting for it for ages. Then restaurant week came and my friends and I decided to go. Ended up getting ill before the booking and LaTabla was super kind to change our booking (this is the only reason it’s not 1 stars). We go there, atmosphere looks cool. Waitress was lovely but got a few things wrong. It’s alright, since she recrtified it: Food experience was just bad. Like really bad. 2 of my friends got burgers and said they were happy with them but another friend got the vegan tacos and that value for money was just poor. 2 measly tacos for €12 with more sauce than actual contents to dip in. He was not satisfied. My starter was 1 taco (aside from the taco shell the contents were good), the main was a huge let down. It was salmon and it was just bland, the veggies were bland and they put a strawberry on top of the salmon which was a bizarre choice. The churros were decent but did not save the day. Maybe a decent place for some cocktails and burgers but this entire experience was a major let down so I will not be back again. There are other much better places in Tallinn that offer better...

Got this as my order. The taste is horrible. Left a note to pack the chicken nuggets and the fries+salad separately. The person who packed it made sure to mix them up as much as possible. The dishes are pictured looking the same way how they arrived(except the 3 fries we had eaten before taking a picture). Also moved the nuggets to see how cold they are. The "dish" consisted of 11 fries and the "salad" had not been touched by us AT ALL. The sweet potato fries were soggy and tasted very weird. The portion was ok at least. We asked for a full refund, they agreed to gave us 15%. Moreover, that's with help from a lovely girl from Wolt support. That's my first bad review I have ever left in Wolt and here.
