To be honest my opinion of this restaurant is influenced by my dinner last night at a different restaurant which produced food that looked exactly the same as some of the food photos for this restaurant. I was hoping for a similarly amazing experience but it was a more expensive and disappointing one.
We ordered two marbled rib eye steaks for €38 each that had a collection of red flags. 1- the steak was cut in half in wedges. Why? 2- the steak was mostly grey with some char marks from a grill, as if it was not cooked right. 3- the steak had no juice coming out when you cut into it as if it wasn’t freshly cooked. 4- it was just warm when it came out, not hot. 5- the steak had no visible marbling even though it was sold as a marbled steak.
The plate looked like someone badly home cooked a steak for dinner with vegetables put as an afterthought, not something premium worth €38. It was not the standard of cooking that was in the photos on Google maps.
We didn’t complain as we didn’t see the point. A chef that puts out this low standard of food either has no will or no system to do things properly. We didn’t bother with desert and left. Two drinks and two steaks cost €87.
I assume the chef who produced the fantastic looking food in the photos has moved to the restaurant that I visited the night before. Myself and my partner greatly regret not going...
Read moreThe three of us had a charming lunch here. The staff were friendly and attentive, explaining the menu and what was on our plates. Being a warm day, I wanted to eat relatively light. They were flexible enough to give me two of my favourite dishes: gazpacho as a starter and beef tartare doubled up from the starters as a main course. My wife had gazpacho and sea bass, and our good friend had pan-fried duck. The other two had pistachio ice cream and chocolate fondant for dessert. All were delicious and the drinks were good too. All in all, a lovely meal of excellent quality, in the most attractive of cities. Oh, and the toilets are some of the best I have experienced. Thank you so much,...
Read moreI attended this resto during Tallinn Restaurant Week. The restaurant had a nice medieval atmosphere on the ground floor with walls made of limestone. The staff was very professional and friendly, and they knew all the ingredients of the dishes. They recommended a fine wine for the dinner. For starters, I had a choice of fresh beef tartare with delicious and melt-in-your-mouth rice chips or delicate lightly salted salmon with toasts. The soft and fresh duck fillet tasted good, but the sweet mashed batat might not have been the best choice as a side dish; however, the slightly grilled parsley tasted superb. For dessert, I enjoyed a warm chocolate cake with a small scoop of ice cream and...
