RACIST & RUDE coffee shop!!

Racist: we are 2 Asians. When we came in the morning of 25 December 2024, of course the coffee shop was full and we didn’t know usually they merge different customers into a table no matter what. However, for us, they didn’t mention the merging and asked us to stand at the corner for 15-20 mins and wait for a completely free table. We were ok and asked if we could order while waiting (in advance), they rejected.

Rude: When we got a table from 2 nice customers, we sat there and started seeing they immediately merged different customers into one table without asking for the one currently sitting there of their consent. No new customers had to wait like us. A customer was completely stunt and ask if they had to share, they just simply replied “Of course, we have to share!”

So the final question is: Why didn’t they invite us to share a table and kept us waiting at the corner for a long time until 2 nice customers had to offer us their table? Even they rejected us to order in advance? (Consider there were only us Asians at that point in the coffee shop)

For us, this is racist and...

(likely) The worst (and racist) cafe in Tallinn

Ordered my food but was told to leave because I was using my laptop (1st Jan 2025): On Jan 1 2025 (about 13.30) I visited this cafe. A fellow customer asked me to leave my table (where i was working on my laptop). There were other free tables where the customer could have sat but still chose to sit next to me. I moved because I wanted to avoid altercation and finnish my work. The customer seemed to still be bothered and started arguing why it is not okay to use laptop in cafe. I am a person of colour and normally I see people working in cafes (which is normal in the nordics) so I perceive this as blunt racism.

The owner of this cafe, instead of telling the other person was wrong, then asked me to leave the place (I had quietly moved to another table was still eating my food and )

Overall the experience seems strange. I would like to know if other customers experienced similar racism...

The Middle aged woman at the shop with black hair was racist. If I could give minus five stars I would. The lady did not want to take the money from my hand I guess she thought my colour would come off onto the her. The only thing that would come off would have been her full face of make up covering all her wrinkles. The shop is very close to the main square and this ignorant behaviour is not a tourist attraction.

The food is poor, customer service rubbish, cafe cold not just the staff and very cramped and small just like the minds of the employees..I also saw a few flies and a mouse scurry across the floor which hastened my departure from that greasy spoon...

This place was so delightful. Beautiful modern interior inside. Charming and understated outdoor seating to view the narrow street this cafe is located at. I ordered the cheesecake and ham salad. Also opted for the Vana Tallinn coffee which has alcohol. Nice afternoon coffee and cake break. The service was excellent and the waiters are very attentive and assisted an older lady with her order to sit outside, which was nice. Highly recommend this place and tempted to try the pancakes next time!

Cozy clean and not crowded place for fast breakfast and filling up just in heart of downtown. They offer several types of salads and desserts, which all shown in front row in the fridge. Veggies are all fresh and good. Dressing for the salads are by your choice - olive oil or vinegar, salt, pepper. Partly you taking care of yourself by yourself :)) Tasty coffee. If you want tiramisu-like dessert you should go for cocoa-pistachio double layered piece. NOT shown on the photo.

We came here by recommendation from our tour guide, to try the fish toasts and people watch. The street is cool and the toasts were tasty, however it’s a small place, so with winter coats, bags and everything, you feel a little cramped. Also, we felt that the ladies at the counter were not friendly at all, even though we were polite and made our choices quickly without disturbing anyone. A smile or a more welcoming attitude would have been appreciated…
