I recently visited this cafe, and I felt compelled to share my feedback regarding my experience. I must admit that I had high expectations given the cozy ambiance of your establishment, but unfortunately, my visit left much to be desired.
First and foremost, the quality of coffee served was extremely disappointing. It was evident that the staff lacked the knowledge and expertise needed to craft a good cup of coffee. The flavor was lacking, and it did not meet the standard I would expect from a place that prides itself on its coffee offerings.
Additionally, the restroom facilities were far from satisfactory. The restroom was cramped, and it was apparent that the owner has cut corners in terms of maintenance. The water pressure in the restroom was notably low, and it was clear that this was done as a cost-saving measure. Moreover, I noticed that the soap provided in the restroom had been diluted with water, which is concerning from a hygiene perspective.
While I understand the importance of cost management for a small business, these cost-cutting measures have significantly impacted the overall experience of the cafe. As a customer, I value a comfortable atmosphere, quality beverages, and clean restroom facilities. Unfortunately, my visit to your cafe fell short on all...
Read moreLove this place, right next to Mad Murphy, have been here about 4times, but the most charming entrance is up the lane at the side, just past Balthasar, actually one goes underneath Balthasar. Great service and coffee here, and in the lane section one can sit outside on the most quaint little chairs with tables that I've seen in Tallinn. Also quite comfortable. Or one can sit out the front side, effectively on the main Town Square, or inside, where it is amazingly cozy. So many interesting seating options here.
All the pics here are from in, around or looking out from the Kehrwieder.
It also specialises in nice chocolate, sokolaad or Shokolaad in Estonian, and combines this service with an associated place across the lane way, only about 10 steps away. Also one can receive the same light food and great coffee and tea service when seated up and along the little laneway that veers off to the right from the lane I'm referring to. It appears at first glance to be a separate restaurant setup, but effectively connected somehow. Great really,...
Read moreHello to everyone reading this review, I'm from the UK and I've visited this place every year never seemed to have a problem previously. I came to Tallinn and showed my friends around how cosy this cafe is, I always considered it slightly pricey but forgiveable given the prime location and cosiness.
This year however, I was severely disappointed in what it's become. When I went to the front to be served I felt like I was a nuisance that came to ask for a coffee and cake. I asked for some items and the servers looked at each other as if I'm an alien which made me feel unwelcome so I had to switch to English to clarify the orders (it would have been polite just to say we don't understand do you speak Estonian or english) I just wanted to leave, I will no longer be returning or recommending this cafe anymore.
P.s. to whomever owns this cafe you have a lovely establishment full of great food but the servers are...
