Pazzo Restoran — Restaurant in Tartu linn

I like coming here for lunch - some of the staff are really pleasant. The lunch menu is also fairly good.

However, for the evening... fist, there's better Italian food than this, even in Tartu. The food takes a lot of time to arrive, and none of the meals we ordered were particularly good.

Second, the service. We stayed there for over 2 hours, and though we spoke our own language with us, all of us speak Estonian fluently. Yet, the waitress kept speaking English to us, which was very rude. She also insisted on taking our menus, though I repeatedly asked to keep it - just to come back 3 minutes later and tell me they don't have the food I wanted. Good that I kept the menu I guess. Then at 22:00 she checked on our table and asked if we want to keep ordering. I ordered a cocktail which she refused to take, because the place closes at 22:30 and they're already cleaning the place. Half an hour before closing, one can't have cocktail, and staff is already mopping the floor around! Extremely unprofessional! Also, why did she even ask then?? Overall, very unpleasant. They ruined my evening, in which I wanted to celebrate a very important achievement in my life. Not coming back, not even for lunch.

EDIT: The restaurant reached out to me and offered a dinner for two with drinks on the house to make up for the incident above. That was nice of them, and this time the service was of course far superior. From what I gathered from our conversations, they've made changes in their policies and are resolved to do better. Me and my partner arrived late in the evening from Tallinn and while our first restaurant option was closed, we thought to give the place a try on a Friday evening. The place was almost full for a Friday evening in winter but we were seated easily. I ordered Margherita pizza with salami and to my surprise, this was just the best pizza I’ve tasted. My partner ordered a healthy burger of which I forgot what it’s called but they’re really good. He was pleasantly surprised, this is rare for such picky eater. Because we both liked the pizza so much, we ordered a take out of the same pizza and while the kitchen was closed, they still made the pizza for us. Even tap water tasted superior than expected. Loved the hospitable service over there. They instantly made me feel at home. I think the waitress name was Sophie, she was very professional and had great knowledge on everything i asked about from italian food styles to different wine characteristics.
