Well this "dinner service" was more or less a cabaret show from start to finish. However special mention about the steak, which was actually and honestly cooked absolutely right. Then, let's get to the juicy bit - now, someone always has to sit closest to the toilets, sure, however I doubt the person who placed the table we sat at, has ever experienced the delightful wafts of Eau d'Urinal everytime someone opened the door to the mens toilets. Now, the waitress was very nice and perhaps might have misunderstood our general state of non-urgency, but regardless, somehow I found the conveyor belt-style service a bit unsettling. The fact that the whole project was over and done with in under an hour might suggest that we were either misunderstood as being participants in a "who can eat the fastest"-concept game show, or, as the 20 person crowd waiting at the door might suggest, they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. As mentioned, the steak was very good, and well, like well behaved school childen we finished our portions. Of course, leaving the table before the customer has had a chance to reply to the question "Is everything all right?", does decrease the likelyhood of a customer giving a less than satisfactory reply. As a final cherry on the top (one of which was also curiously present in the cosmopolitan that I did not have the chance of finishing before my escargots arrived about 6 and a half minutes after ordering both pre-drinks and food), this was the first time I've experienced the delightful addition of curry powder to a béarnaise sauce, and though someone who is more mentally aligned with food served in Finnish schools might find this appealing, I do not consider this wild culinary experiment to have been a successful one. Well, though probably obvious by this point, we wont be bothering this establishment with our business in the future, which will of course be a huge relief to the waitress not wanting a reply, but I will suggest a less adventurous approach to the above mentioned sauce and maybe a thorough review of the overall...
Read moreI'll start with the dining area which was quite nice, it could get a bit congested, but the tables and utensils were of good quality.
Moving on to the staff they were very professional, very polite and helpful. They had a bit undisciplined cause at first they said choose your table freely, and after 10 minutes of sitting down they came and said that the table was reserved so we had to move. But to be fair they were polite.
As for the food now, we had an Entrecote and a Royal Steak! Entrecote with mushroom sauce and the Royal Steak (Tenderloin) was with pepper sauce. All very very tasty! The french fries were also cooked to perfection!
I had snail with garlic butter as well, and I have to say thay it was not good at all. In fact the only thing that was bad! The snails were overcooked! Very dry that I needed to chew on them for quite a while! Couldn't finish them really. Thats the only reason thay I am giving four stars to it.
If you are into steaks...
Read moreSimple place with some ny feel. The odd thing was, they had the same picture next to eachother in the exact same frame... I like symmetry a lot, but this was a first time I reacted on such.
The food... well the taste was great. The presentation was... well... I was startled at first...
So I ordered a Swiss Snitzel, potato fries and it came with roasted veggies... the thing was, the veggies were nowhere to be found... no they were exactly under the meat! :) it was a fun surprise but I really didn't expect it.
Anyways... back to the taste? I have had many snitzels in my life as well as cordonblue, but this Swiss Snitzel was by far the best cheese Snitzel I've had in years! Such an easy dish, yet so pleasant... and the added garnishing of roasted veggies was a nice compliment despite it being a cheese Snitzel (it does include ham too)
It was just great! Not the thing you would order at a steakhouse but when I read it being a "other specialty" I just had...
