Best value for money in central Helsinki!! Had a very pleasant stay! This hotel is 10-15min walk from the main station, 2 min walk from public transport (even though you can easily walk to most attractions), Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall (I recommend) is literally round the corner for whoever wants to try different types of sauna and swim (mostly locals when I went), full of pubs and bars, if you like to be in the middle of the action this is the perfect place! Plenty of restaurants as well nearby. Reception is NOT 24 hrs but self check in process was easy and quick, the room was spacious and clean and heating was on all the time (been here in the beginning of March, so still super cold outside). I particularly loved the little alcove by the window where you can chill and relax after a long day. Weekends are extremely busy outside but the windows were 2 and both double glazed so the noise was almost non existent plus we were on the 5th floor so that helped. Bathroom was really tiny but I honestly didn't mind. Bed was comfortable, pillows smaller than average but still comfy. If you have a late flight, on the 5th and 6th floor they have storage lockers. Didn't talk much to the reception staff but they were nice and polite. Building's got a lift so easy access to any room. I absolutely recommend this hotel!!

I stayed at the Hotel Finn on a big interrail trip from the UK up through the Baltics States and then back through Scandianvia. While it doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside, my experience was fantastic. First, my room, while not huge, was quite the cutest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It was warm and quiet with really effective double glazing. The bed was comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was great, with a powerful shower that had plenty if hot water and decent shampoo/body wash (and a hair drier). The staff were really friendly and welcoming and they have free coffee available at reception. They don't have a restaurant but there are loads nearby and they have even got a discount for guests at some of them. They have a really cool system for leaving your luggage there after checkout, with lockers available for free (and access to a toilet). It's right slap bang in the centre of the city; the central railway station is 5 minutes walk away, it's got loads of tram stops just outside (T7 or T9 from the ferry from Tallinn), 10 minutes walk to the Old Market Hall and the Orthodox Cathedral. I loved Helsinki and will definitely stay at the Hotel Finn again

Good hotel in a great location with decent facilities. It honestly still lacking in so many ways but perhaps the most upsetting is the dreadful bathroom situation in the single room. The space in the hallway/reception could have been utilised to extend the bathroom. It’s not a hostel that requires socialising so I fail to see the point of that space. The room could have been a lot more comfortable if the private bathroom was comfortable as well. Thankfully, the water pressure and temperature made up for the discomfort. Asides from that, the room was okay and surprisingly well soundproofed despite being surrounded by bars and restaurants.

I booked a twin and triple for my 3 kids (youngest 5), husband and sister for our Helsinki 3 nights stay.

Check-in is a nuisance. I got an email prior arrival instructing me to fill out check-in details for my family of 6. Upon arrival at the property at around 4 pm on April 2, we were greeted by a receptionist who seems to be in a hurry to get rid of us or just probably annoyed at her job. I gave her my confirmation number but instead of listening, she demanded for my name. The girl asked us to fill out again a form, pretty much repeating the whole check-in process. I told her we already did and said that she didn't know 'coz there might be delays in notification, but upon her checking she immediately saw the form I filled out and said I don't have to write my address to the form but for all others fields I should which is my name, date of birth and signature (a repetition of what they they have asked online). She then demanded and assumed that my sister should write everything because I'm the only one who did the check-in but she probably missed the part where we said WE already did the check-in process online. In short, don't waste your time checking-in online. It's a joke. I usually rate receptionist because they set my mood on how I view properties. The other staffs are better and welcoming though. Other than this incident, the place served it purpose for the duration of our stay. Excellent location but not really kid friendly as pubs are common around the area but is expected since we're...

This was mainly used as a stop-over for our next flight out the next day. We ended up arriving later than expected due to weather issues from Rovaniemi to Helsinki. We arrived a little before midnight and the reception desk was already closed for the evening. There was a sign to call for assistance and they were able to provide us with a code to enter the building and retrieve our keycards. Seemed very self explanatory, but in the early morning when you're already tired from flying, this can seem very frustrating. We happened to be on the 5th floor and you can still hear the thumping due to the night clubs below. Luckily we arrived late, as the clubs would eventually close a couple of hours later.

The rooms themselves are a bit interesting, they felt like hostel living quarters. But considering how expensive Finland is, the price is right in this situation. Not exactly sure this is where I would want to stay if it were for multiple days, but it was doable for a night.

As for the surrounding area, we briefly looked up places to eat, but because we arrived late, we were unable to venture out. It seemed as though there are lots of good places to eat and that was the original plan, but plans change unfortunately.

Lastly, the elevator is quite small. If you have 3 people and luggage, be prepared to squeeze, otherwise you will need to take...
