Svenska Teatern — Attraction in Helsinki sub-region

A bit smaller but more character containing theater. As they open the doors just 45min before the show, and there's only one little café, it seems that the visitors ain't meant to come enjoy themself before or after the show. More like "welcome see the play, and then leave". So if your in town for a whole evening your better of eating somewhere and then just arrive to the theater for the show. Continue the evening again somewhere else.

The theater itself is a typical theater in the very heart of Helsinki. The plays range from classical plays to comedy and musicals. The name "Swedish Theater", as Google translated the name into, is somewhat misleading. The name "Swedish" does not indicate that the theater or it's repertoire has anything to do with with the country of Sweden. Rather it indicates that the plays are performed in the swedish language and caters in that way to the needs of the swedish speaking minority in Finland.
