Restaurant Teatteri — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

We came here for a more expensive premium lunch on purpose (250€ for 4 people was the final bill), but we ended up being disappointed to the quality of the food and service. The service was sloppy and we felt a few times that we have been forgotten completely

The starter soup was OK but nothing too special, the 39€ beef main course was badly cooked: we ordered the meat as medium but it was very raw from the inside for all of us, and the dessert was OKish. We also ordered wine with the food but it never arrived. We had to go search for a waitress to explicitly ask "could we get the wine we ordered?"

There were not much people during that time in the restaurant so you definitely can not blame that. We were served by 4 or 5 different people which I find odd and could have been one reason why everything went so wrong. I also find it bothering that no one said "sorry" for...

It was my first time coming to Teatteri and it will probably be my last one. We ordered the Whitefish starter and ended up extremely disappointed. The fish had a weird texture and the flavours didn’t balance each other. The beetroot seemed out of place and it wasn’t adding anything to the dish but an odd flavour. For Mains we ordered the Risotto and the Grilled pike perch, both of them were okay but still felt like something was missing, neither of these dishes made me feel like I was investing my money on quality food. For dessert neither of the options on the New Year’s menu sounded good to us so they offered us a vegan brownie which had a weird flavour and texture. Came in right after lunch just to relax and have a hot cup of coffee. We were pleasantly surprised that the Latte was good, IMHO, better than Starbucks' and Espresso's. It's an excellent place to catch up with friends and have a decent chit chat because it's not packed to the brim like other coffee places. Especially today when loads of people flocked into town for the Christmas parade. We didn't get the chance to try the food, but we'll certainly come back for it since it's recommended by one of our friends. Area of improvement: staff needs a crash course in customer service - lady at the bar counter had a sour face the whole time we were there. Certainly not a good image for...
