Small cozy restaurant in Johan Sigfrid Sirén designed building on a quiet side street right besides Esplanadi Park.
Upon arrival me and my girlfriend were greeted by the two staff member and took up a seat right infront of the window. As i like looking at city folk pasing by as i'm munching on the ordered delights. The decor, the color layout and overal setup of the restourant felt small and very cozy. Soft elevator'escue music played throughout while we waited for our order.
We ordered a 34 piece sushi order and honestly speaking every single piece was delicious. So much so that at times i contemplated eating more than the 17 pieces allocated to me by girlfriend. While she wasn't looking of course. But better judgment prevailed and we evenly divided the foor 20 to14 in my favor.
We didn't order apetizers and weren't really hungry. So for those wondering the time went by smoothly. All in all from ordering to eating took around 15 minutes i guess.
It's truly a great little place in the heart of the city. Location is phenomenal as you can take time of and rest yet be in the walking distance of majority of "places to see" in the city.
If you go south you reach the a 1891 Theodor Höijer fire station which is an architectural masterpiece, go even further and you stumble on the Gustaf Nyström designed and currently operating as a design museum building and the St. John's Church in Gothic style. Go east and you reach the harbor and the district of Katajanoka with it's rich collection of Art Nouveau buildings. Head north and you're in the city centre with all of the "Tourist spots" nearby. Go south and you find yourself lost for hours strolling the streets and admiring the full gamut of styles to be found. Anything and everything from neuclassical to jugend to national romantic style can be found there althought it might take time to find it as there aren't that many "Landmark" buildings in...
Read more1st time, we got the deal for two from offerilla. Owner/chef(?!?) tried to kick us out even though we had reservations (days in advance). The restaurant was also empty, so really couldn't understand the behaviour. He was yelling in Vietnamese to the waitress when we insisted we had the proper reservations online (which we already told the waitress upon arrival) before telling us that instead of the two options of set menus in offerilla, there's just one. Anyway, it was small so we ordered salmon poke bowl, which was nice so we tried to forget the rudeness of the man.
After paying there was a man who tried to redeem his offerilla offer too and was turned away rudely for not having reservations. Let me reiterate that the restaurant was empty!
2nd time, it was a busy evening, we stood at the door, demurely waited to ask the waitress if there was a table. She showed us to an empty table with menus, a few minutes later, another man came but he told us to order with the waitress. A long while later, the waitress came and said we have to leave since we don't have reservations. I just don't get why she didn't check and tell us since the beginning, because we were waiting at the door and she was the one to show us to the table. Really frustrating to waste 10-15 minutes to be seated and ready to order only to be kicked out rudely without remorse.
TL;DR staff needs to go to...

Latitude 25 is restaurant inside another restaurant, and you need to book a table. Entering restaurant was bit strange experience, we were kindly received at the restaurant and directed to the bar counter of another restaurant to wait, but no one asked if we wanted something to drink while waiting. Waiting time was 5-10 minutes, so no problem
Dining experience itself was almost flawless, I wish the waiter wouldn't touch my water glass while pouring me a drink.
The chef told about the dishes and their ingredients and origins, interesting information e.g. from real wasabi. The only thing I missed would have been 1-2 more small warm dishes, now I may have felt a little hollow when I left.
Hopefully we would get more Japanese food culture in Finland, and...
