Rioni has shown goodwill by providing adequate compensation for a previous mishap described below. (Left for transparency)
The sharing menu is a massive scam. 61€ per person to get maybe 8 or 9 bites each from different dishes.
The individual dishes on the menu might be worth the price, but out of principle I will never visit this restaurant again
Edit: replying to the owner's response.
"No one expressed that the food was not enough"
We did indirectly express it by inquiring about the changed menu. However, this did not seem to ring any bells with your waiter, whose job it is to "make sure all clients leave happy"
The waiter did not ask how the food was. Not while cleaning the table and not while we inquired about the price. I believe it should be the staff's job to provide an avenue for giving feedback.
The waiter didn't inquire whether the food was enough whilst cleaning table from plates that were practically licked clean on a menu item that apparently in most cases has "way too much" food. He only asking if we wanted the dessert menu. It felt quite insulting.
If the pricing equals the a la carte menu then I can confidently state that we did in fact NOT receive all our food. According to the pricing, that would equal 2-3 full meals per person, whilst we all left hungry with what felt like half a meal per person.
Are you insinuating that we would have gotten more food if we asked? The food itself was actually quite tasty, so if this is what it takes, then we would be happy to return to receive the rest of the food we paid for.
Google reviews is quite bad at hosting conversations, I would be happy to continue this conversation via email.
Edit 2: I have attempted to contact the owner but haven't received a reply in...
Read moreI've had such a great experience, I just have to spill the beans right now:
I took my husband out for his birthday meal, and we went all out with the Supra for two. Spoiler alert: it was chef's kiss perfection.
The food:
Everything arrived at once, completely overwhelming our tiny table with a mountain of deliciousness:
The salad: great!
The potatoes with onions: If I was a poet, I could write a love poem about the potatoes -- and I really love potatoes.
The cheesy bread: death by carbs, salt and butter, but what a way to go!
The kebabs: a lovely carnivorous affair.
The chicken: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.
The beef: so good it almost brought tears to my eyes.
The eggplant rolls: new to me, but I'm convinced vegans will LOVE.
The pork pot: juicy, juicy, juicy.
The sauces: Tasty! My favorite was the green pepper, but they were all equally tantalizing. Make sure to try them all!
House bread: we were too full to touch it, but it looked delicious.
The atmosphere:
Busy Saturday night, so the place was packed, maybe not as serene as some would prefer, but hey, the vibe was lively, and the music didn’t try to shout at us.
Service:
Our waiter was so sweet we nearly considered adoption. Friendly, polite, and their English was better than ours (they don't speak Finnish, but that's cool).
Bonus:
My husband got a little birthday surprise on the house. A nice touch that made us feel extra special. Thank you, he really really loved it!
Overall:
We’ll be back. Absolutely,...
Read moreOur dinner at Restaurant Rioni in Helsinki was absolutely delightful! From the moment we stepped in, we felt warmly welcomed by the attentive staff. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with tasteful decor that added to the overall dining experience.
As a group of six adults and two children, we were pleased to find that the menu catered to everyone's preferences. I, being a vegetarian, had plenty of delicious options to choose from, while the others enjoyed a variety of meat and cheese dishes that were expertly prepared and bursting with flavor.
What impressed us the most was the excellent service. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to accommodate our needs, including providing good options for the children, who were thrilled with their meals.
The highlight, of course, was the food itself. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the authentic flavors of Georgian cuisine. From the cheesy goodness of the khachapuri to the juicy grilled meats, every bite was a delight to the senses.
Overall, our experience at Restaurant Rioni was nothing short of fantastic. We left with satisfied appetites and smiles on our faces, already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience...
