We had a warm and positive experience at La Cintra, coming in from a windy, rainy night to Jimmy's smile and warm humor ("Would you like your menu in French, English... or Egyptian?"). We gobbled up the tasty complimentary appetizer, an olive tapenade on toasted ficelle slices. The service was attentive and efficient, with frequently-replaced table water. The baguette rolls were tender on the inside, crusty on the outside -- just right! My partner's Provencal-style beef stew was rich, with fork-tender beef served over perfectly-done noodles. My morel omelet was full of tiny savory mushrooms (my favorite since childhood) -- it filled half the plate (!) and was served with a simple side salad and crispy frites. Though we were too full for dessert-- these looked wonderful as they passed by, going to other tables. We will return!

We came here at 21.30, not welcomed politely, but with a waiter pointing us to sit down at a table from afar (so rude!) We ordered chicken and moule frites. The chicken and fries were okay, but the moule was disgusting, it has this weird smell (It surely was not fresh). We didn’t even finish half of the moule. When we asked for the bill, the waiter didn’t even care why we didn’t finish it and he didn’t ask how was our dinner. He gave us the wrong bill (the bill from the table beside us) because he could not read (he was always squinting his eyes). Gladly we checked our order before. Can’t imagine those who paid sans contact. With the price, is was a terrible experience, I do not recommend to eat at this restaurant.

We come here quite often. Food is always fresh and very delicious. “Moules farcies” are among the best I tried in France (Mussels with French fries are also great). Pancakes are also excellent. Value for money is also great - some dishes are even cheaper than in other places around. Waiters are always elegant and polite (and they give a free appetiser!). Theres also live music every day after 18. And the restaurant is located in the very city centre but not next to large pedestrian traffic, so you can enjoy some calmness. Definitely recommend this place!

5 Star for having the most affordable, quality food we found in France! 5 Star for having the friendly and even entertaining waiters! 5 Star for having accommodating people throughout the restaurant. 5 Star for not only saving my wife's hat for our return to Aix, but for having every employee in the place know we were returning for it! 5 Star location with a view of the Rotonde fountain from the outdoor seating

I can't say enough about this place, the people, and the affordable food! My favorite was the Ham & Cheese Omelet. When I say this Omelet is breakfast and lunch I am not exaggerating! It is at least 3 eggs, with a pile of ham! I have never had an omelet with so much meat! By itself, the omelet fills over a third of a large plate! A heaping portion of what American's describe as "Texas Fries" is included, and the rest of the plate is filled with salad. This could easily feed two people! And it was delicious! Done perfectly, and get this, a wonderful sit down meal for 8euro! That's only 80 cents more than a McDonald's Royale with Cheese! (And anyone who has seen the movie "Pulp Fiction" will recognize that this as the French version of a 1/4 pounder with cheese. selling for 7e20 right now!)

Our waiter Jimmy was a hoot! My wife ordered the "fish soup" and it came with some sort of relish which you put on little toast pieces after rubbing garlic on the toast. It was comical and entertaining the way Jimmy showed my wife and I how to prepare this (ok, you had to be there for this, but both my wife and I thought it was hilarious, so take my word for it.)

Besides Jimmy, the next morning my wife, who had a bit of a cold, was feeling under the weather needed coffee. Our hotel was across the street, so I ran over there. Well they normally didn't deal with take-out espresso drinks, but they brewed up a Latte for her, and put it in a large glass, and then just told me to keep the glass when I told them I'd bring it right back. (I brought it back, and we ate breakfast/lunch there.)

Right after eating we took off for Nice, and it was there that my Wife discovered her hat was missing. I zipped off an email to Le Cintra telling them we'd like to pick it up on the return trip if it had been turned in.

On return to Aix we went back, and a random waiter asked to help us, and so I told him we wanted to have lunch, and then told him we were looking for the hat, and he exclaimed "The hat" Yes! (like this hat was common knowledge to everyone there!) Our waiter Jimmy was also there and he ended up serving us, and after we were done eating he brought the hat, which my wife was overjoyed to see. We got pictures of us with Jimmy and the hat (another waiter was gratious enough to take the picture of the three of us!

Anyway the whole La Cintra experience was so positive I vowed to write a review when I got back home. I highly recommend it for those who want good food that will fill you up for a day of touring, at a...
