La Rotonde — Restaurant in Aix-en-Provence

With so many businesses being closed on a Sunday, we selected this one as it had recent and good reviews. We will admit Service and atmosphere were top notch, drinks were delicious, however the food was okay. As it’s usual of most businesses in a touristy area, food sometimes is not the best, we did enjoy ourselves with the nice weather, people watching and overall good time. The prices were not bad, except for the sparkling water at 8€ when it cost less than 2€ at the store, mussels were also not available when i ordered and the meat I selected doesn’t appear to be the one I was given. I asked for the Faux-filet but got charged for the more expensive one, I don’t mind paying the additional money as long as I received what I was charged for but I guess I will never know. This is my worse experience in Aix. I want to give zero star if it is possible. The waitress of this restaurant is extremely unprofessional and rude. Since I was waiting for the food menu, I was not ready to look at the drink menu on the table. She approached with an uncomfortable attitude, staring at me with faked smile. She said to me, “ You don’t know what you want to drink?” This is the first time in my life that met a waitress speaks this way to a customer. I ordered a drink and asked for a food menu. She told me I have to move to the other side of restaurant for dinner. But at the same time, I saw another waiter is setting plates for other customers just beside me. The food was very bad. We ordered the day's special and a thai salad (with chicken). I don't know what the meat was in the thai salad, but it was not chicken. The best think on the salad were the peanuts(!). The day menu was supposed to be a tartar of gambas with two or three gambas. There was no traces of gambas in the tartar, but three meager shrimps on the plate. The French fries were oily. My glass (mineral water) had a bad smell and the toilets were disgusting and not well maintained even though the personnel was standing at the bar doing nothing.
