Le Piston — Restaurant in Aix-en-Provence

Sat down for dinner with two friends at this restaurant Sunday. A nice family looked around and thought about sitting next to us. I motioned the table was free.

Angry waiter came out and accused us of scaring the family away and sarcastically asked if I worked there. Maybe it was the menu. Maybe they wanted to eat something else. Maybe they wanted kid friendly options. Maybe the waiter had a weird angry look on his face that scared off the family.

The short tempered waiter made something up in his head and decided to entirely blame us. He was unbelievably rude. We decided to leave. Maybe he just didn't want to work.

We were all very upset the rest of the night and walked until we found a nice pizza restaurant. Laughed with our new waitress and ate the recommendations made by our very kind waitress.

My friend at the restaurant with me was in the hospital for the last month battling cancer in Luxembourg. He's taking chemotherapy medication still. It was literally his first night not in the hospital in a month. In. A. Month. We spent seven hours in a car driving from Luxembourg that day and only spent that one night in Aix. This was the scene we were welcomed to before going to his treatment in another city.

I've waited tables before and I've seen people fired for far, far less than the scene we had to experience. If you don't want to work in customer service - then don't have a customer service job. Life pro tip. Take your arrogance, your ego and your attitude elsewhere.

We stopped for lunch a couple of days ago. Honestly the service was not the best. We ordered a parmigiana and calamari a la romana. The parmigiana was ok, it lacked some flavour. For the calamari, because it was not part of the entry dishes section, we thought it would be a bigger amount. There were only 8 calamaris and they looked more like onion rings. They also brought a bread basket which might have been old, because the bread was super hard. As for the service, we ordered a bottle of water like the rest of the tables were drinking and the waiter tricked us and almost opened a bottle of evian water. We just wanted tap water, which btw is free. Luckily I corrected him before he could open the bottle. We then ordered some beer and they never told us they had different sizes, so they brought us a smaller cup. When they brought the check they charged us the evian water that we never drank and didnt charge us 1 beer. We payed by mistake without checking these details and then I went to the cashier and mentioned the mistake. Also, the toilet was clean, but the toilet paper was on the floor. Not very hygienic. Honestly too many problems and for someone that is on vacation the least you want to experience is to be scammed. We just wanted to enjoy our lunch. Would not recommend, would...

Nous y avons déjeuné avec mon mari ce samedi midi. Enceinte de 7 mois nous avons commandé 2 coca et 2 pizzas, rien de particulier. A l’arrivée des plats, au moment de nous servir la jeune serveuse m’a renversée la pizza dessus. Nous sommes restés très calme la serveuse étant très gentille un accident peut arriver. Forcément sortant du four je me suis brûlée le doigt, après avoir ramassé bouts de jambon et champignons qui étaient étalés sur mon pantalon la serveuse me demande simplement si je souhaite une nouvelle serviette. Un peu outré mon mari lui réponds qu’on souhaiterait surtout une autre pizza. La serveuse revient avec une autre dame nous avons donc supposé une soit disante responsable hautaine et extrêmement désagréable à la limite de l’irrespect qui était très agacé de notre demande car la pizza n’est pas tombée par terre après tout mais uniquement sur mon jeans et mon pull en laine. Après de très longues minutes d’attente, nous avions quasiment terminé celle de mon mari la dame est revenu en disant qu’elle pouvait rien faire car plus personne pour faire les pizzas. Il ne nous a pas été proposé de nous offrir un plat de pâtes ou même un coca. Avec mon ventre énorme nous avons donc été au restaurant pour manger une pizza à 2 🤣 Au moment de payer les 2 responsables sont restés des plus désagréables, aucun geste commercial et aucune excuses. J’ai donc passé ma journée tachée d d’la tête au pied, 3 jours après j’ai toujours une cloque sur le doigt et j’ai du jeter le pantalon que je portais car après 2 lavages celui-ci était encore plein de gras. Passez votre chemin des pizzerias il y en a chaque coin de rue, la nourriture n’étant pas exceptionnel vous trouverez une petite pizzeria chaleureuse, ici il s’agit de charlatans uniquement là...
