I never like to leave negative reviews, especially about a small independent business, but I hope this helps them improve the restaurant.
The staff were really friendly, and when we arrived there was a fantastic atmosphere. But unfortunately, we left feeling incredibly disappointed and you could see the other diners were too.
The food was ok. Some dishes were fantastic, like the lamb pasta, but some were inedible. We had a langoustine dish with lobster quenelles - the quenelles were vile. My duck was nice, but incredibly chewy. We looked over and other diners had left most of theirs. You could tell that most tables were feeling the same - underwhelmed.
You can clearly see the passion the chefs and waiter have for the restaurant and they were lovely, but for the price of the meal, the service was below par (due to lack of staff).
There was one waiter for the whole restaurant and he was we running around with the chefs trying to serve the food. For a restaurant with these prices, it's not acceptable. You want to feel special when you're paying nearly 200 euros for a meal and I felt like we were eating in a canteen.
Clearly other people have had incredible experiences here, but tonight wasn't their night. Gutted to have spent this much money on a...
Read moreAfter seeing this restaurant on the Michelin guide we were excited to try it and even paid a deposit to hold a reservation for our first night in Aix. Unfortunately the service was extremely poor and the food was very disappointing. I asked the server if it was possible to have the risotto without the smoked salmon as I’m 6 months pregnant and cannot eat raw fish. I said if this was not possible I would get the lamb instead. The server spoke to the chef and said this was no problem. Our dishes arrived and the risotto had salmon in it when I informed the server they said it was cooked so it was safe. It was small bits mixed into the risotto and difficult to tell if it was cooked so I wasn’t comfortable eating it. My husband informed them and they did nothing to remedy the situation they were unwilling to offer another dish or remake it without the raw fish or remove it from the bill. We paid our bill and left as quickly as possible to go dine elsewhere. Very disappointed in the service, food and...
Read moreWhile the food was fine, the service was horrible and the staff and the chef were unbelievably rude. I have not seen this kind of rudeness in France for years. First, we alerted them in advance that one of our party was disabled. He has Parkinson’s, so while he can still walk with his wife’s help, he has difficulty chewing, swallowing, and talking. When his wife asked to share a dish because he could not eat a menu formule, the rude waitress said in France you don’t share dishes. Then they only brought the amuse bouche for three people, because there were only three full orders. Even though he had ordered a starter and a main. When our food arrived, they brought the carasau bread to me as well as my companion. I was eating it, when the chef came and took it away because it didn’t come with the dish I ordered! I guess he preferred it in the trash than on our table. How this place is on the Michelin guide is a...
