Very disappointed! Spring rolls, baked tofu, papaya salads, chicken curry and Cantonese rice were not we've expected. The taste is very adjusted to the Europeans. Spring rolls: can not taste if it is pork or chicken; accompanying sauce I really missed the fish sauce and lemon juice! Baked tofu: looked better then the taste; the thin batter was tasteless also the sauce which was only thick mass. Papaya salads: I'm not sure if it is green papaya slides. Anyway it was only the sourness and again I missed the taste of fish sauce, lemon juice, garlic, pepper, crunched peannuts and coriander! Chicken curry: boring and flat tastes with poor ingredients of bamboo shoots and carrots. Cantonese rice (a bit confusing why serving this in a Viet restaurant?): it looked and tasted far from the real Cantonese version! Although the lady and very young man did their best but the service is very clumsy and slow. No, I shall honestly not recommend this Viet restaurant if you're an Asian...
Read moreIt's very rare that we visit the same place twice on the same day, so Nem probably deserves 6 stars. Food was amazing and the service very fast. At lunch my girlfriend got a takeaway of beef bibimbap although once I'd tasted it I ate a lot of it so we went back in the evening and I had Nem Porc (not pictured because I was too hungry) and Caramel Chicken above and my girlfriend had beef pho which had an amazing fragrance to describe but it all tasted so good. When you walk by Nem it's easier to assume it's not busy but there's more seating hidden down the stairs. We thought they were closing when we went back because the door was closed and it was late, but we opened the door and many arrived after us.
Give them a try. Chicken Caramel doesn't sound like it would be nice on an English menu but it wasn't that sweet and your not seeing the Caramel in the photo because its diluted into the water. Also the crispy onions on the rice added a fantastic crunch!

The bún chả had that perfect balance with smoky grilled pork, a tangy-sweet broth, and fresh herbs that made every bite light yet flavorful. But my friend’s bún bò nem stole the show. The chicken was fragrant with lemongrass and spices, but the real standout was the spring rolls which are crispy, golden, and packed with so much flavor that I wished I had ordered them too. Honestly, you can probably skip the phở. This resto is the...
