Au Bureau — Restaurant in Annecy

This restaurant shouldn't be a two star, rather 4 or 5. It looks great from outside and the frenchises I've visited in Saint Egreve and Aix les Bains are very good. But this time, it was a bad experience. The only good thing was the food actually. But contrary to my visits to other "au bureau" the service in this restaurant was awful. Not that they didn't want to be nice and commercial, but they couldn't - this restaurant is understaffed or the waiters aren't effiicient, I cannot tell. In any case it took a LONG time between the meals, a really really LONG time, If I say 30 minutes waiting after having finished one meal until the other one showed up, I don't exagerate. There was a lot of guests on this sunday of course, but maybe they should have refused some to focus on the quality in stead of quantity. At the end when it was time to pay, I was like a shadow that didn't exist for the boss and his staff - they just wanted me to pay of course, but they were not interested in exchanging 2 words more than the strictly necessary for them to get paid and at the moment I typed in the PIN of my card they were occupied with something else - they didn't even look at me when giving me my bank card back. Rude Staff, – Don’t Waste Your Money. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in Annecy. I was seated at an uncomfortable table with a poor view, stuck in a corner. When I slightly adjusted the table to get a better angle of the TV, the waiter immediately turned around with an aggressive attitude and pushed the table back into place without saying a word.

I wasn’t asking to move tables or causing any disruption — it was a small, harmless adjustment. His reaction was rude, unnecessary, and completely out of proportion.

I felt so uncomfortable that I left before even placing an order. There’s absolutely no excuse for treating guests like that.

Annecy has plenty of welcoming restaurants with professional staff — don’t waste your time or money here. This place clearly doesn’t value its customers, and honestly, the owner should consider retraining the staff on basic manners and hospitality. Basic respect and professionalism are...

I think this is the first time I’ve ever left a one star review. Here are my reasons I would not recommend this place: the food is low quality. I got the burger and it was not tasty at all. Very chewy. Not tender. I couldn’t even finish it, and i was starving, so that’s saying something. the food was cold. in our group of 4, the food came immediately but everyone’s meal was cold. they offer their sauces (ketchup and mayo) in plastic packets which is not sustainable or environmentally friendly. most importantly, my cousin is a celiac, meaning she’s extremely allergic to gluten. She asked about the lamb and they said it was safe and gluten free. But after that, when she started eating her food, she asked one last time if there’s gluten in the food to a different server.
