C'EST LA VIE — Restaurant in Avignon

After a long day of travel, my wife and I dropped our bags off at our hotel. Just down the small street was a very cute looking restaurant and decided it looked good for a couple of drinks. We sat outside and the owner (Salem) came out and immediately started a lively conversation (where you from, how long will you be here, etc.). He was genuinely interested in us. After asking him for recommendations, we ordered s couple glasses of wine. Then a couple more to try something different - per his suggestions. All were wonderful! Then, without prompting, he brought out a couple more for us to try. I cannot say enough regarding his hospitality. We had friends arriving later that day and we told Salem we would be back with them in tow. A couple of days later, we (all six of us) went back for dinner. We did not have any reservations but he was able to seat us immediately. The excellent service continued. The food his wife prepared for us was outstanding. We had a great time. We had just arrived in Avignon and were looking to try some places for dinner. We almost tried a place that had us pick out jars of food to take out and eat. Thank goodness we were able to stop by this restaurant and experience such an incredible night of food and service!

This restaurant has been open for just a month and is run by a husband and a wife. But my goodness, they surpass all expectations! The husband is more than just a waiter. He is one of the funniest, kindest people I've ever met. He was running short of beverages for our group but still offered his last few of them ON THE HOUSE! Next thing, we were talking about our trip so far and he offers us a map of Avignon to take and possible tourist destinations! And the food- absolutely delicious. I had the chicken burger but there are so many options and they're all amazing! Please go eat at this restaurant. They absolutely deserve to blow up...
