Le festival comptoir gourmand — Restaurant in Avignon

First cafe crème was delicious, beautiful coffee, sat outside watching the world go by on a Sunday afternoon…we thought let’s get another coffee…ordered (eventually) and waited and waited and…you get it! Eventually the second coffees arrived which again were very very nice…€3.90 each…we then asked for the bill…this seemed to take forever! Granted it was busy but not at all full…I decided to go in and pay and was abruptly told you’re bill is done as he swiftly ignored me and served two other patrons…I then asked in French (we do try!!) where our bill was…he then shouted to the server that had served both lots of coffees we were chasing the bill, so the server comes over and says ‘tranquille’! People on other tables were also experiencing slow service (a lot of raised eyebrows and muttering). It’s Sunday! We may as well had waited until Monday it took so long…hands me the card machine to tap and I asked to see the total as the machine was held with the total facing the server; €31.20 was the bill when the screen displaying the total was shown. I said four coffees at €3.90 should be €15.60. Server grabs back the machine, looks inside at the cashier and mutters away, corrects the total and slams PDQ machine back on the table! Very rude senior person inside and pretty abrupt server outside…actually left feeling we were targeted as stupid English tourists 😔. Not felt that way in France since we arrived. Sad really…be aware, check your bill BUT enjoy the delicious coffee! Star rating purely on the delicious coffee. Minus 5* for the horrendous lack...

We went to this place yesterday for lunch. This is the worst Italian restaurant I have been to. This place does stand as Italian restaurants in relation to their disgusting food they serve. we ordered some pasta with 4 cheeses. The pasta is ready waiting in the fridge to be microwaved (awful) we ordered 4 crepes with a scoop of ice cream, the ice cream arrived 10 minutes beforehand then only 3 crepes arrived ( they look and taste disgusting) we had to cancel the 4th crepe, first we couldn't eat the first ones and secondly we were meant to receive them together. I spoke to the manager but he ignored me by saying it's very good and wasn't interested to listen to my complaint. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this place, on the top it's super expensive...

Just get away from this place. Very nice ice cream but… we asked of we can get extra cup for our 3,5 year old daughter and they said we can’t… then we decided that we will sit with this ice cream inside the empty place, ther where 0 guests… and servants told us that we can’t sit there, because we have ice cream “to go” after our question why, they just said that we can’t… We called the boss and came lady very unpleasant. She told us that we can’t sit there. Only if we have drinks. Little advice, if you see a family with two kids which bought at yours ice cream, let them sit. Even more when the restaurant is empty. It is better to come and say it nice… very...
