Café de France Les Routiers — Restaurant in Beaune

What a find! A local’s eatery, only open for lunch during the week. This was truly an experience and the highlight of our trip to Beaune! A simple fixed menu at a very reasonable price. Every table is served a large bowl of salad with a starter of cold meat and gherkins. Followed by the dish of the day. We had a choice between the duck or sausage served with thick home cut chips. A cheese board is then passed around with a wide variety to choose from. You help yourself. To finish, a sweet dessert was distributed. On the day, it was the lightest fluffiest of eclairs. The portions are generous and dishes served family style so make sure you go with an appetite. The owners are lovely and down to earth. Honestly the best place we went to in Beaune. So much so that for the 5 days that we were there, we could not walk past the place without our dog dragging us...

Impeccable service and atmosphere. The server was quick and friendly and was very helpful when we had questions about the food. The food was fantastic, with generous portions and an excellent wine pairing.
