Aphrodite — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Really nice terrasse in historical neighbourhood of Bordeaux, friendly staff, service was prompt and the food was tasty, dishes were fresh and colorful.

I was disappointed by the wine service as I ordered a bottle of Assyrtiko and was given a bottle of Chardonnay without telling us. It’s only when they brought the bottle covered by an ice pack, poured the wine and left that I realised the wine tasted different and it was really not the one I ordered. Asked the staff who came back explaining they ran out and thought this was would be the same, therefore a good replacement. I was not happy with this explanation. They offered us a shot of a digestive to compensate but alas as a wine person, disappointed with wine service especially with the bill. Felt the dinner was tasty but in terms of experience it was not entirely satisfying...

5 star everything. Dishes were full of color and flavor, i strongly recommend a full course meal, from appetizers to dessert. We had the opportunity to try a variety of them and none of them disappoint. I got the Souvlaki and i did not expect it to be such a elegant dish, typically in Cyprus when you order the Souvlaki it’s the Souvlaki kalamaki accompanied with french fries and pita, i appreciate the gourmet-ish approach on every dish. Tzatziki (which i believe it’s homemade) was so tasty. The octopus was so creamy and soft. Souvlaki was perfectly cooked. We also got the Xtapodosalata (octopus salad) i just wish the portion was a bit bigger for its price. For dessert we got the baklava, classic and flavorful. Can’t wait to visit again and try...

A truly 5 star experience. Our waiter Mr Takis was amazing. We got the Xtapodosalata ( octopus salad) and the tzatziki which where just amazing and perfectly seasoned. For main dishes we got the souvlaki and Octopus which where predented very gourmet-ish. They where perfectly cooked and seasoned. The atmosphere was amazing with greek music and greek design on the walls as well as traditional chairs and tables. The servers where amazing especially Mr Takis who speaks Greek. I would love to come again and try...
