Echo — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Let’s start that the guys were really friendly, they did nothing wrong. The food was a problem. For a long time we didn’t eat so uninteresting and if i can tell bad and everything not for less money. The food although seems (feels) fresh was completely not impressive. It’s like when you try to be creative but actually personal taste is missing and you just tastelessly creative. So it was combination of the products which are not really working together. We had two glasses of wine both were also horrible. We thought that with dessert you cannot do smth wrong! Ohhhh how wrong we were. Again combination of products which create disgusting taste. My dessert has a flavor of a sausage 😳 It is not creative, it’s very amateurish. I was also extremely disappointed with google rating and thought maybe restaurant was sold to another people, thats why it still has such a high rating. We loved our meal at Echo. The waiter was friendly and explained part of the menu in English and recommended an excellent glass of wine. We only asked about the entrees so we guessed what the appetizers meant and ordered the gnocchi. The gnocchi was really good, the pesto sauce lacked a bit of flavor but the cooked tomatoes were amazing. I ordered the lemon cream pasta with shaved egg fish. It tasted really interesting and I liked it, I just couldn't finish it as the lemon taste became a bit too overpowering. My husband ordered the burger which was the best dish of the meal! We finished with the chocolate mousse which was also delicious. Great atmosphere and we were relieved to have a different menu that the other French restaurants...

Solid 4.2 let me explain why. The entrees were so amazing, we got the shrimp bisque with burrata cheese that was just bursting with flavor. The mushroom appetizer was also just amazing and out of this world with the texture and the fragrant mushroom flavor. I would call it like French fine dining. So we expected a lot from the main dish but unfortunately the pork was a bit dry even though the flavor was still amazing, the grilled corn that came with it actually was the beer corn I've ever had in my life. The fish dish was a red tuna tataki and that was more modern fine dining type of sauce and seasoning which is not usually my favorite but still really good.
